I had my first appointment today and it was....

Amazing and awful all at the same time. I got to see my little peanut. And I got to see the heartbeat which was amazing. I didn't get to hear it (for some reason the dr said I wouldn't be able to hear it because it's too soon?) but that's okay, just as long as I know that the baby is okay =) The bad part of it was, the dr was such an @$$. He was one of the rudest guys I've ever been to in my life. He was rushy, rude and arrogant. I had so many questions and he answered SOME of them with just one worded answers. He was rude to my mom and to me. He was so rushy. Me and my mom just wanted to enjoy the moment and the dr. rushed us out.

It was just an experience of mixed emotions. But all in all I got to see my baby for the first time and everything is okay. All I know is that I will NOT have that dr deliver my child.

Def find a new doctor!
I hate feeling rushed. I want a doc who values my questions and concerns. You have to feel comfortable and trust him to actually be there for you.

Not hearing the heartbeat that early is normal, you generally can't hear it until after the 12 week mark, anything prior with the ultrasound machine is just the machine creating a sound based on the beats it visualizes. 

Sorry he was an ass, though. :(

I'm glad you got to see the baby, but your Doctor is unacceptable.  You need to find a new Doctor.  I had similar feelings about my OBGYN before I gopt pregnant and when I learned I was pregnant I made the decision to try another Doctor.  I'm so glad I did because I absolutely love the new Doctor I see and everyone that works in the office.  They are so sweet and genuine and they always take their time with me.  I feel like I'm their only patient when I'm there.

Oh no! I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with your doctor. It's time to find a new one! I have an appointment next week with a new OB/GYN since my regular PCP doesn't do maternity (which stinks because I really love her!).

But the best part is that you got to see your little baby!! How exciting! Don't let someone like that doctor ruin this happy time for you. Best of luck to you and your family!

Find a new OB for sure.  Check w/ family and friends to see who they would recommend.  This is a special time and you should feel important.  Call the practice and complain.  Not to be sexist, but I do feel that a female doctor provides more sensitivity and caring to another women, ESPECIALLY during pregnancy when you really need it.  Good luck and congratuations.  You'll hear the heart beat at your next follow up -- SOOO COOL!

Congratulations.  Also, you should find a new doctor.  You do not want to be with someone you do not like through your entire pregnancy.  There is nothing wrong with finding a new doctor either!

+#1 on 4/1/12 - m/c @ ~8w 5d
+#2 Tx cycle 4 - 5 mg Letrozole + 75iu Follsitim & Ovidrel w/ IUI on 11/13/12 - EDD 7/23/13
7 week u/s revealed THREE babies, all with heartbeats. 153bpm, 148bpm, and 136bpm
9 week u/s revealed loss of Baby B. A and C are growing on track. A measuring 9w1d with 172bpm and C measuring 9w0d with 179 bpm.
Elective sex determination u/s on 2/8 revealed... boy AND girl!
