Rex

What are your thoughts on Rex as a first name?  

DH brought this one up, and honestly, my initial reaction was to group it with other names like Spot and Fido.  

I'm curious as to what you all think.

I think it's terrible. It's up there with Axel for me. SOunds like you are trying way to hard to be "hip or cool." Then it reminds me of T-Rex. Our cousins named their son this after giving their daughter a beautiful classic name.  Everyone comments on his name, and not in a good way.

I think as a nickname its fine but it has to fit the personality.  I know a Rex, and he is pretty awesome.

I know two awesome little boys named Rex and the name fits them so perfectly. at first glance i hate the name personally, but certain kids can pull it off.

I knew a guy named Rex in HS.  The animal associations aside it sounds like some type of NN.  I couldn't see Rex working when he's an adult.  I also have a cat named Rex.

I like PP suggestion of Max.

Well, its on BTN so it must be OK. AND its classic and has a great royal meaning and has been used for centuries..... ;) 

 I dont mind it. I have a friend who has a Rex Sebastian- he is 3 now.
