This is why TB needs to use sticky posts.
TB has a sticky post. TTGP does, rather. Only problem is that you have to have things sorted properly to see it AND people have to care enough to read it.
The bolded especially. If you're bumping from a computer the newbie link is in the header for the board so it's there regardless of how posts are sorted. It's easily missed though. :(
It's there but it's in REALLY tiny font in the header. And I don't sort the other way for it to appear as a regular post. The "community rules" sort of pop out but not the teeny "new to TTGP? read this first!" message above it. I wonder if thebump could make it a bigger font? (And the community rules are written by thebump and have basically no bearing on rules for TTGP. In fact, you can be mislead by reading them and thinking those are the only rules.)
The newbie link would have taken care of this post but it doesn't take care of other etiquette no-nos such as flyby BFPs (or announcing a BFP when you've posted here like twice), "woe is me" posts, FX for positive test posts, etc. (i.e. we have "waiting to O" and "2ww" check-in posts daily, but people don't know what needs to go in there vs. something else.) In some sense these issues are sort of common sense, but in smaller forums these type of posts aren't frowned upon because they don't come up as much so people aren't as annoyed by them.
