MN for Kian

After thinking we had already settled on a name, the winds of change swept in rather forcefully and landed us with pretty deep roots on a name that we're 99% sure will be our choice for a boy's name: Kian (KEE-in)

Now it's time to figure out the MN.  Here's a monster list of some of our current top choices. Some of the following are connected to family, some to his Chinese name (which has two characters which mean 'prayer' and 'sun'- and is pronounced similar to Kian), some to meanings that we feel connect with with the meanings of Kian (Kian= ancient in Gaelic and benevolent king in Persian), and others that we just plain like.

Let me know which you like the most and also if there are any that just don't flow together at all and you think should be removed from our ever-shrinking list.

Kian Charles Luckie (his G. Grandpa's name)
Kian Thomas Luckie (his G. Grandma's maiden name)
Kian Edward Luckie (his G. Grandpa's name)
Kian Cleveland Luckie (his G. Grandpa's family name)
Kian Jasper Luckie (we just like the name Jasper)
Kian Altan Luckie (Altan= dawn in Turkish; connects with his Chinese name)
Kian Arun Luckie (Arun= sun in Sanskrit; connects with ^)
Kian Samson Luckie (Samson= sun/service in Hebrew; connects with ^)
Kian Drake Luckie (Drake= dragon; he'll be born and raised in the city at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain)
Kian Talat Luckie (Talat= prayer in Sanskrit; connects with his Chinese name)
Kian Decker Luckie (Decker= man of prayer in German, connects with ^)
Kian Sinclair Luckie (Sinclair= prayer in French, ^)
Kian Saul Luckie (Saul= 'prayed for' in Hebrew; ^; I've always liked the name Saul)
Kian Dante Luckie (Dante= enduring/steadfast; like the meaning and the poet)
Kian Bodhi Luckie (Bodhi= enlightened; wisdom in Sanskrit)
Kian Aroon Luckie (Aroon= dawn in Thai)
Kian Asa Luckie (Asa= dawn in Japanese / healer in Hebrew)
Kian Caelum Luckie (Caelum= heaven; sky; sculptor's chisel in Latin (was our 2nd choice name for his FN)
Kian Lewis/Louis Luckie (Louis- connects to one of my heroes; Lewis- connects to where I went to college)
Kian Alaric Luckie (Alaric= noble)
Kian Rigel Luckie (Rigel= star in the Orion constellation)
Kian Clayton Luckie (Clayton= clay)
Kian Corey Luckie (Corey= God's peace)
Kian Darius Luckie (Darius= maintains possessions well in Persian and Greek; the name of an ancient Persian King, the name Kian is also the name of an ancient Persian king)

 Appreciate your input! Thanks!

You have a lot of options from his family, do you like any options from yours?  That would sway my vote a bit probably.

I like Kian Thomas, Kian Louis, Kian Sinclair or Kian Edward the best.  I dislike any of the names ending in -n since Kian ends in -n.  This isn't a dealbreaker if the MN ends in -n that you like the best, but since you have such a long list I had to start eliminating somehow! I also dislike, Darius, Corey, Asa, Caelum, Cleveland, or Talat, whether its because of flow or just NMS.  I guess since Kian isn't a common name, I like the option of giving him a more traditional MN but that's JMO.

Actually when I say 'his family' I meant 'his' as in Kian's (i.e. Kian's Great Grandma, etc). There's a range of family connections in there.

Thanks for the thoughts. The ending in -n comment is one I'm definitely gonna take. Those MNs have hereby been wide off my list. I agree, I don't like the double ending 'n's, and I don't have as a deep a connection with some of those ones anyway it would seem. Might keep the 'Samson' one on the possibility list, but the other 'n's are gone.

Kian Edward is one I seem to run through my brain more often than most.

I like Kian Thomas, Kian Edward, Kian Charles, and Kian Louis in that order. The others are NMS. Kian Clayton and Kian Corey don't flow well.
