UPDATE - Fert report - probably out AGAIN

The nurse called yesterday. Of the 6 they retrieved 4 were mature, and only one fertilized. Ugh! So disappointing. She said "try not to break down". Once I got off the phone I left work and cried in the car. IF sucks! I'm praying this one embryo grows and we can transfer Tuesday, but I'm expecting the worse. Regardless we want two children so now this is a guarantee that I'll have to go through this again. Worst part is they still have no idea what's wrong with me. Still "unexplained". 

Ok rant over. :) 

Update 12/9: RE called this afternoon to let me know that our one fertilized embryo was an 8 cell on day 3! I was so shocked. We are scheduled for ET on Tuesday afternoon hoping it continues to develop normally. Trying not to get my hopes up.  
TTC since 2/11 - Unexplained IF B/W revealed high prolactin levels. Taking bromocriptine for prolactin.
IUI #1-3 = BFN
IVF November = Cancelled (undermedicated = small follicles)
IVF December = ER 12/6 - 6R/4M/Only 1F
Transfered our one and only blast (3AA) on 12/11

DX: DH (30) severe MFI, severely low count & low motility
Me (32): all clear
Appt with Urologist 5/21/12: exam, ultrasound, bloodwork all normal.
Testicular Biopsy with TESE on 6/8/12. good sperm found! (left side only) froze sperm, failed thaw test :(
Orientation for IVF/ICSI on 6/13/12. Waiting for the green light following biopsy results...results show adequate sperm production both sides.
2nd SA 6/18/12: sample is "adequate for ICSI"
Plan: IVF/ICSI July 2012!
ER: 7/26/12. 15 eggs retrieved, all mature.
TESE/TESA/aspiration from epididymis, no motile sperm found :(
froze all eggs, the saga of praying for good sperm continues.
8/3/12: 2nd opinion from MFI uro on biopsy slides. Suspects "partial late maturation arrest."
Plan: more SAs, third biopsy/TESE with frozen back-up either from DH or DS.
SA 8/17/12: Zero sperm
SA 8/23/12: Zero sperm
9/26/12: SPERM FOUND! 15 eggs thawed, 12 survived and were ICSI'd, only 3 fertilized normally. Refrozen as embies and will thaw in Nov. Please survive and grow!
All 3 survived the thaw on 11/15/12!
FET 11/17/12: transferred 2, one 4B, one 4C. Beta 11/30:BFFN
moving on to DS
DIUI#1 2/18/13,50mg Clomid cd 3-7, Ovidrel trigger, Beta 3/4/13: BFN.

Married for 3 years to the love of my life! TTC for over a year. Started seeing RE in April 2012. Lap in July revealed endo covering left ovary and part of my bowels. This will require extensive surgery by a specialist. RE wants us to have babies first because surgery could compromise my ability to carry. Started first round of IVF in August. Ten follies retrieved, eight fertilized, two frosties. IVF #1= C/P *Frozen Embie Transfer scheduled for end of Nov/Dec. Going to transfer 2 frosties if all goes according to plan*

I am so sorry.. Unexplained IF is so frustrating I remember crying when the doctor told me all of out test came back normal and they can't explain why we are not getting pregnant, my husband thought I was crazy and should be happy they couldn't find anything. I just wanted some answers and so far haven't got a clue what wrong. I have my fingers and toes crossed that you embie will be your take home baby!  ((BIG HUGS))

Sorry for your disappointment. IF sucks. Don't give up on that one though! It's probably perfect:-). I know how frustrating unexplained can be. I know how disappointing it is to know you have to go through all this again! Thoughts and prayers your way that you get one beautiful baby this round!

(((HUGS HUGS))). this is such tough process. praying for a rockstar embie.

as for having to go through it again, try your best not to think of it at this point. you are severely fatigues by this process, so of course you can't fathom going through it again.

if you need to, you will find the strength you need when the time comes.

My RE doesn't do day 3 transfers. He likes to wait until day 5 for whatever reason. I never questioned it before since it was so far out of my reach.

8 cell on day 3 sounds perfect!  Did they say why they would not have just gone ahead and transferred on day 3 since it was still in the game then?  FX your transfer tomorrow goes smoothly!

 

My RE doesn't do day 3 transfers. He likes to wait until day 5 for whatever reason. I never questioned it before since it was so far out of my reach.

Interesting.  It amazes me how differently doctors run their cycles!

DH: 28 (MFI low morph and motility diagnosed 5/8/12).
RE is recommending IVF but we want to start with IUI. DH was unwilling to pursue treatment until 7/21/12.
Cycle #21- Injects + IUI #1= BFFN
Cycle #22- HSG 9/21/12 all clear= BFFN
Cycle #23- Injects + IUI#2= BFFN
Cycle #24- IVF #1- ER 12/6/12 (14R, 11M, 9F), ET 12/9/12 transferred 2 day 3 embies
Beta #1 10dp3dt=3 (-). Beta #2 12dp3dt=6.6 (+). Beta #3 39.1 (+)

Cycle #26- Diagnosed high NK cells 3/5/13. FET scheduled 3/20/13- CANCELLED- lining issues
Cycle #27- Starting Trental for 3 months for new FET protocol. Natural cycles until FET in August
