Using the sculpey for hand and foot ornament how long do you bake for?
sweetMay119:How easy is it to make the imprint? Do you have to push hard? I tried crayola clay and it is to hard for my 7 mnth old.
Here is a post I wrote about my sculpey footprint ornaments.
And these are the instructions I wrote when someone asked about them on FB: I use Sculpey (bought it at Beverly's). Work it with your hands until it's more malleable. Then I roll it out flat with a rolling pin until it's about 1/4" thick. Press their foot into the clay (be sure to press on individual toes). Feet work better than hands because they tend to want to grab at the clay and it's hard to keep their fingers totally flat. Then I take other colors of sculpey and roll it out with my fingers until it's long and skinny like spaghetti. I then cut the long strips into smaller pieces to make the letters and numbers. Then I trim around the entire thing with an exacto/clay knife and poke a hole with a pencil end that's missing the eraser. When everything is exactly how you want it, bake it at 275 for 15-20 minutes in a glass dish. If you want, you can coat it with a sculpey glaze when it's cool.
