Feltboard Family PIP

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Here is the felt version of our family! I made it yesterday so DS can practice making faces/saying the parts. I'm sure he'll come up with some interesting rearrangements ;)

That's a great spin off of the felt Christmas tree I've seen. Yes

Thanks! I haven't seen the tree - but can imagine. We used to do tons of felt board activities in school when I was little! I'm excited to make him a bigger one eventually and do storybook themes :)

I made LO a mini felt board for church/restaurants with faces, but I didn't even think of trying to make our faces. Thanks for the idea!

Oooh, I like this! When I taught school, I used the Handwriting Without Tears program, and there is a similar activity to teach body awareness. (The face parts were the same, but we also had a big rectangle for the body, sticks for arms, legs, and feet, and gloves for hands.) It is amazing how the kids really start to figure out how to draw a body with the feet NOT coming out of the head once you do these activities! It's like the lightbulb goes on and they think, "Oh, yeah. I have a body and a neck, too!" lol
