Cycles post pill

I recently introduced myself and had mentioned that my last BC pill would be taken over the weekend (yay!) so I am officially off.  Just wondering how long it took others to resume normal cycles/ periods after stopping the pill.  I've read that it could take anywhere between 2 weeks to 3 months but would love to hear what your experience was.  Thanks!

It varies by person but it took me about 3 before it was a normal cycle.
Me- Ok as 1/13 DH- Azoospermia diagnosis 1st Donor IUI planned for July

My first time off BC after being on it for over 10 years I had a 32 day cycle...the next cycle I conceived my DS.  I went back on BC for 3.5 years and got pg the first cycle off, ending in a loss.  After my D&E my cycle was 25 days and we'll see what happens this cycle.

it took me quite a few cycles to get back to normal, but i also have hypothyroidism that messed with me quite a bit. it really just depends on the individual, i believe. good luck to you!

Today is my 16th day post pill. We'll see how it goes..I haven't been charting or temping or anything so there really is no way for me to know exactly what's going on but on a positive note..a few days ago I had cramps down in my right ovary area so if those were ovulation cramps which would be the right timing..it looks like I'll have a smooth transition back to 'normal' GL!

When I went off of BCP a few years ago my cycles went back to normal right away. I wasn't on them very long though.

I went off BC in March, and it looks like this will be my first normal cycle after the pill. I was on BC for about 7 years. Since being off, i've been having very long cycles. 56 days,65 days, and 67 days. GL, hopefully you regulate quickly!

I went off of BCP's in the end of August and started temping and charting right away, according to FF I O'd that first cycle but my period came about a week early. Since then I have had anywhere from a 22 to 31 days cycles, most of which FF also confirmed ovulation.  Needless to say I am not BFP yet, and this cycle is already longer then my last one, so I don't know that I am regulated yet.

Good luck to you, just remember, everyone is different, some people have been lucky enough to get BFP right off of BCP's.

When I stopped my BC pills the first time I had been on them for 7 years.  My cycle went back to normal immediately.  This time I had been on them for 4 months and my first cycle was over 60 days.  Go figure.

I was on BCP for 11 years (which makes me feel old)...I had horrible periods before, sometimes every 2 weeks, and since coming off the pill my cycles have been 33 days, 28 days, 29 days and 34 days.

Of course my cycles were all weird, but two of my girlfriends said their cycles went back to being regular right away, like 2832 day cycles.

Just started cycle 2 post BCP.  With my first cycle I ovulated on Day 40.  Hopefully this time I won't have to wait as long.

This is my first cycle post pill also, CD 21 so far.  In the past when I had come off of them my cycles were 23 and 25 days, then always 25 days as soon as I came off of them.  So I guess, no real problem in the past with regulation.  Everybody differs.

I was pretty regular right after (30 day). I'm currently waiting to see what the Mirena did to my cycle.

I went off the pill in April. My first cycle was 42 days, then 67 days, then 107 days which never resulted in ovulation and had to be ended with provera. Hoping the 10 days of provera I just finished is going to be the kick in the butt my body needs to start regulating!

I stopped at the end of July. Since then, I've had a 61 day cycle, a 44 day cycle, and this one is on track to be 36 days. So, still not regular but getting cloers. Prior to the pill, I had fairly regular 30-32 day cycles.

I'd suggest charting or at the very least using OPKs so that if things do not go back to normal right away, you have some insight into what your body is doing.

That is brutal! Just out of curiosity, have you seen your doctor about this? Are meds not an option?

I went off in July, and had my first normal cycle in November. Whether or not that means my cycles will remain normal now is yet to be seen. Everyone is different, though. Good luck!

TTC since 10/11 Started testing 1/13 HSG, Saline Sono, BW, MRI for slightly high Prolactin All tests came back normal DH- SA normal Diagnosis: Unexplained 3/13 Clomid 50mg/trigger/IUI #1/Endometrin BFN 4/13 Clomid 100mg/trigger/IUI #2/ Endometrin BFN 5/13 Clomid 100mg/trigger/IUI #3/ Endometrin ???

My cycles started right away and are regular.  In fact I am reminded why I started taking them 10 yrs ago! I bleed like a stuck pig! I have noticed that while before bc I only cramped mildly, I now cramp so bad I am nauseous on my first and second day.  This is my 3rd cycle and during the last 2 I have had to call in sick at least one day because I was hurting so bad.

Probably about 3-4 for me but then we had to change my Synthroid dose (I have congenital hypothyroidism) , so that wonked them up for another cycle.

 

(Yes, "wonked them up" is a medical term)
