List of Girls Names

So we've pretty much got our name figured out if she's a girl (Mayna), but we wanna be completely sure about it, so we're also making a list of possible back-ups in case another name sparks significant interest in us. As such, I've narrowed down our back-up list here to some of our top choices and would greatly appreciate some thoughts and feedback on some of these name options.

 

- Aiyana - Amaryllis - Aurelia - Amara - Celeste - Aurora - Aisha - Solana - Athena - Tierney - Neysa - Seraphina - Cerelia

Love Athena and Celeste and LOVE Amaryllis!!!  We almost chose that as DD's middle name.

The rest of your names are pretty, but that are a bit too frilly for my personal taste.

I really love Aurora, Aurelia and Seraphina.  Beautiful - all of 'em.

I love Athena for the Greek goddess and intelligence angle.

I like Amara a lot.

The rest, including Mayna, are not for me.

Mayna certainly doesn't seem to be to everyone's taste, but for us it has special significance. It's a Chinese name (as well as several other languages- and has great meanings in each of them), that in Chinese has a meaning that really brings together our families multi-cultural and multi-ethnic heritage in a very succinct way. I understand completely how it's not for everyone, but we love it.

Mayna's not bad, certainly could be lots worse.  If you love it, use it.  I've never heard it before.

From your list I really like Celeste.  It's refreshing and you never hear it anymore.  I also really like Aurora (one of my top 5) and Cerelia.

I like Mayna, especially if it is a significant name for you.

If not, Celeste is the only one I really love from the back-up list.

I don't really like Mayna..but I like Aurelia, Amara, Aurora and Seraphina from your list...The rest feel like they are trying to a bit to hard to be be different.
