NTTGPR- Amazing Race Fans come in.(Spoilers)

So last night was the Finale of the Amazing Race.  I have been watching the show since season three or four and I loved the outcome of this race.  I think this was the first time a team has won the race that never came in first place in any of the legs.  I was pleased with who the final three were.  Ugh both my husband and I hated 'TWINIE' and how they talked to and treated the Beakman boys was not nice and I hated that everyone referred to them as 'the gays'.

But I am so happy that they won and really had a true underdog story.

Sound off below on how you felt about the outcome of this season and would you every want to go on the Amazing Race?

I would love to race the amazing race with either my husband or my best friend.  Not only to try and win a million dollars but also to have a great experience and be able to go places, see things and do things I would normally not get to do.

I was totally shocked that they won!  I really thought Lexi and Trey (sp?) were going to win it.  Those flags were tricky!  But good for the guys for winning, the only non-alliance team!  I think more than anything I'm glad the twins didn't win.  H could barely stand to watch the show with me this season because of them!

I would love the opportunity to do something like this - rumor has it there's going to be a new Canadian version!!  We love to travel, and this would be one hell of a trip, but my body is not always good at it :(  I have some back issues and probably the worst motion sickness of anyone I've ever met - it's on ongoing joke that if I walk too fast, I'll make myself nauseous!

I am sooo happy the Beekman boys won.  What an underdog story.  The only team I did not like out of the final four were Natalie and Nadia (the twins).  They were annoying, coniving and just rude.  I was so happy when they were eliminated before the final leg.

The Amazing Race is also something I'd love to do with my husband.  We are very athletic and competitive and I am very good at memorizing things.  The only thing that would make us nuts is the planned issues, like a flat tire or car that won't start.  Those things are thrown into the race on purpose to create drama.  Plus we'd probably be made out to look like the a$$hole couple.  We are nice people, but competitive and can be very bullheaded with each other, especially when it comes to navigation.

Me too!  H and I were peeved the week before when they came in last and it turned out to be a non-elimination round! I think the last straw for me was when they stole the money from the Abba guys who had to beg on the streets of Bangladesh to carry on in the race, that was pretty grimy...

Yeah.  They annoyed me the whole time, but the stealing thing is what really did it for me.  I also did not like Abby and Ryan, they just thought they were going to walk away with the win and they acted like it.  I also hated the twins comment about "the gays".  That just put them further onto my hate list.  At the end of the day, they used others for their gain and they weren't really as competitive as they thought they were.

They announced the Canadian version last week..it's going to be across Canada.

I hated/was annoyed by the twins right from the start, but the stealing the money was a new low.  We were shocked they didn't get a penalty - in the past if you did something (like when the two guys moved the tools/paint brushes a few seasons ago) that hindered the race for another team, you would get a penalty.  Oh well - they were eliminated before the top 3 and I was ecstatic.

All this for me too!  And as a later poster said, I was surprised the Twinnies didn't get a penalty for stealing the money, hubby was all pissed when that happened and I actually reassured him that they would be penalized for it, so when it didn't happen we were both extra mad!  I too found them sooo loud, obnoxious, rude, and just plain annoying.  I was rooting for the Chippendales because of the dad with cancer story, but was equally glad that the Beekmans won, I sure love me an underdog!  I'm just glad that Abby and Ryan lost, I hated those two with a passion, so arrogant, and so pathetic and whiny when they were eliminated!  I mean, it's a game for a million bucks, like they weren't first on the list to get U-Turned - get over it whiny babies!!

I told my sister about the Canadian version of the race and she's totally wanting us to apply!  She's 11 years younger than me, we can have lots of fun together but we're also very competitive and like to argue, we'd be that couple on the show that everyone just wonders when one will haul off and smack the other.  Only sad thing about the Canadian version is there'd be a different host - no Phil! :(

Sounds like the Canadian Version will be fun for everyone to watch.  I noticed sometime commented how they disliked when the twins would refer to the Beekman's as 'the gays'.  That also upset me because they used that as a label, they used it to define those two guys.  Everyone else they referred to as their profession or where they were from, so they couldn't just call them the farmers or something.

I don't know how my husband an I would be on The Amazing Race.  I am pretty good at directions and he would do all the driving, I do not know how to drive manual.  But when it comes to choosing who does the road block that would be where there would be big issues.  The road block before the final 3 would have done me in if I had to do it.  Going underground into caves to find mushrooms would have given me panic attacks especially how the lights turned off.  I am extremely claustrophobic  so just doing down there with no visible way out I would have panicked from the get go.

If you haven't checked it out, on the Beekman Boys facebook page they have a link to their thank you's to everyone from the race and it's amazing.  They also have linked sites to go to for the teams, like to donate to the Chippendales family with dad fighting cancer and other organizations the teams contribute to.  Just reading that made me happy with who won.  They are amazing couple and I only hope good things for them.

I was rooting for the Chippendales but am satisfied with the Beakmans winning the one leg that really counted. The twins irritated from the beginning, so loud and obnoxious. The stealing incident was where I lost whatever respect for them that I might have had left. Not impressed with them constantly referring to the Beakmans as "the gays" either.

The Canadian version could be interesting but I'm a little disappointed that it's only a race around Canada.

I thought that too but H's family has done some crazy traveling in Canada, including Baffin Island and the arctic and while it may still technically be Canada, I've been told you need to remind yourself you're actually still in Canada!

And definitely agree with PP's who commented on the lack of penalty after stealing the money - I was surprised and really disappointed by that.

While I'd love to travel the world with Amazing Race, I also think Canada has so much to offer! In 2008 I took my then-13-year-old daughter on a cross Canada driving trip, we hit every province over five weeks, including Newfoundland and PEI, and didn't see nearly enough. And some parts of Canada definitely seemed like another country...Newfoundland and Montreal might as well have been language-wise, and the differences in terrain and cultures and such were spectacular!
