Using pacifier when sleeping

We've started to have our baby sleep in her crib at night and although she's able to sleep longer periods of time, once she wakes up she will be up for about 1 1/2 hours.  She wants her pacifier and it will easily put her asleep, but every time it falls out, she cries.  Do you recommend that we keep getting up to put it back in her mouth or let her try to self-soothe?  She is 2 months old, so I still feel she's too young to cry it out. I love the pacifier, yet hate it at the same time!!!

this was my LO for his first 2 months.  I had to constantly put his paci back in his mouth for him to calm down. The good thing is that sleeping with the paci prevents SIDS.  Also he did grow out of it.  Now he prefers his thumb which at first I didn't like but it makes everything alot easier now that he can self soothe!  Maybe you can help her learn to suck her thumb?  Also, do you swaddle?  We swaddles until recently, he slept so well in his swaddle sack and did not need paci.

Sadly, we rush to put the paci back in. Our LO is the same way and if it falls out for too long he gets really fussy and the longer it's out the longer it takes to get him back to sleep. Basically we are a slave to it! Hopefully only from a little while longer, but for now....that's us.

This is us as well. If he gets to a really deep sleep, then when the paci falls out he's ok. However, LO is really fidgety even when he sleeps and sometimes he wakes himself up by jerking awake. They'll eventually grow out of it, I just hope it's sooner than later!!

Well, at least I know I'm not alone. :)  I just wasn't sure if I should be let her cry for a bit or keep putting it back in her mouth. Hopefully it gets better because once she wakes up, it's tough for her to go back to sleep!
