Baby Movement Question

I know what it feels like when LO kicks and when he's pushing up against things, but what about rolling? The only reason I ask is because multiple sites have mentioned that when counting kicks to also count rolls and swishes, but I'm honestly wondering what those are supposed to feel like.

A couple of weeks ago LO's "kicks" turned more into rolls/squirms. I think that's what happens when they run out of space. His movements are VERY pronounced now and there's no mistaking what a roll is once you feel it.  He's so big now that any movements can be seen as my stomach is moving around or jerking.  It's pretty entertaining when he starts up while I'm in a meeting at work, I feel like the guy from Alien.

You'll know, trust me! It feels like something just rolling and moving inside of your stomach rather than a kick or punch. You'll sort of feel it more all over your stomach too. I sometimes equate it to when you're driving and you go over one of those bumps in the road and your stomach just sort of flip flops, but in a good way :)

My first child felt like he was all knees and elbows.  Every movement felt like kicking or poking.  This one, on the other hand, leans and pushes and squirms.  totally different feeling this time around.  Kid one was pokey, this one just stretches me.

I wondered this too, until a few weeks ago when she got too big to do as much wiggling as before. I still get the occasional punch (usually in the cervix, hooray!) or kick, but mostly I feel rolling. Like an elbow or knee is just rubbing across the inside of your belly as she turns over. Feeling like the guy from Alien is spot on :P haha. It's funny, especially when you can see it move across your belly.

Anything you feel that isn't from your digestive tract is baby. Hiccups, swooshes any sort of movement counts. You should just feel motion in your abdomen.

You'll know a roll when you feel it. DD just started this up this past week. It's an entirely new (kinda weird/creepy) sensation... I could see my whole stomach do a wave type motion, very cool and freaky...

It feels... like rolling, lol. It happens to me mainly at the top of my stomach, and literally feels like someone is spinning a rolling pin or something inside.

As PPs said, you'll know. I've been feeling this for weeks, and it's seriously weird. Sometimes you can even feel a little head or limb through your belly, and the rounded out bump is no longer rounded out and symmetrical. It doesn't last long, but let me reiterate... it's seriously weird lol

Sometimes it does *kinda* hurt when you touch your belly mid-roll. But that's only if it's causing some extra stretching, I think. NBD.
