I've been told that your skin itches when it's stretching... so that could be why... although with my first pregnancy I used the cocoa butter just about everywhere to "prevent" the stretch marks, and I got an allergic reaction to it, and I itched everywhere, and turned bright red!!! if it doesn't look like a bad reaction.. it's probably normal... try to use a non scented moisturizing lotion to stop the itch. good luck!!

Yes, as my skin is stretching and the air is cold and dry here.  Lotion with cocoa butter works well.  There is this cocoa butter stick that is thicker than lotion but takes longer to apply.

I had this with my last pregnancy and dry skin was causing it for me. When I am pregnant, my skin gets really dry!

Itching was one of my first symptoms. I put it into dr. google and that's why I tested (mixed with "late" period... I was always irregular so I wasn't really late)

Try a humidifier to help if its dry and cold there. I always heard to not itch!! I just try to cake on the lotion every morning and night everywhere BC I have really dry skin. I also keep a small thing of lotion in my purse. So if its itchy I can apply it anywhere.

I had about a week of crazy itchiness that drove me up the wall. I was especially itchy on my back and the back of my arms (ironically, my belly was probably the least itchy place). I usually get dry/itchy skin in the winter, so I think the pregnancy just exacerbated it about a million times. Humidifier running at night, then used cocoa butter, vaseline, lotion with oatmeal, and whatever super strength dry skin lotion I could find as often as I could. Also although it may seem counter intuitive, shower/bathe as LITTLE as possible, and avoid hot water. (Although I've heard of some people doing oatmeal baths, kinda like you do for chicken pox etc). Also, slather yourself with lotion like the second you get out of the shower when your pores are all open.

Another thing I tried that helped some was using ice packs where I was super itchy, which seemed to work some, although it might have just been because it was distracting.
