clomid

I just got off the phone with my Dr and she said that my levels were low and she was putting me on Clomid (50mg). We have been trying for 1 1/2 yrs now and have only had one miscarriage. I'm extremely nervous that not only will we have multiples but that I will turn into a RAGING crazy lady and I really don't want to be that way toward my husband. Any help, advice, suggestions would be great!

If you are being monitored properly by an RE or well trained OBGYN then you should not have to worry about high order multiples. An RE aims to get you pregnant and have you deliver with as little risk as possible so they are very serious about avoiding multiples if possible.

I never took Clomid, so I can't speak to being a raging crazy lady but I can tell you that I have done many cycles of injectable meds and have not been a crazy lady, so don't stress too much about that. Take it one day at a time.

Have you had an HSG? Taking Clomid without an HSG can be a bad idea because if your tubes are blocked you will have no luck with Clomid. Also, there are many girls on the Trouble Trying to Conceive board (as well as here) that have taken or are taking Clomid, so you might check in there.

I wouldn't call myself an expert, but I have done 2 rounds of clomid.  I wouldn't worry about the "crazy lady" effect.  I didn't think it was too bad.  Everything to me just seemed a little more irritating.  Like the previous post said, as long as you are being watched I wouldn't worry about multiples.  I got pregnant on my first one with just one and had 4 follicles that had matured.  Second time I had 3 follicles and didn't get pregnant.

 Good Luck!

I did take clomid and I was not a pleasant person while I was on it. I did not respond at all to the drug. I'm sorry your going through this and I wish you good luck. You will have more women going through the same cycles as you over on 3tc. You are welcome to stay but most of us here are doing IVF so you might find more similarities to your current cycles over there. Good luck!
