16 WK check up!

So I had my 16 week check up today. I had explanied my concern that I was feeling baby strongly at 14 wks and then nothing since a week ago this past Saturday. Every one in awhile I'll feel a very faint movement. Now in my previous sono baby was moving like a crazy kid. And I have been feeling baby since around 11-12 weeks. (I'm a STM) So my doc decided he wanted to do a sono and check it out to make sure everything was OK. Welllllllll I got good news and possible bad news AND a surprise PEAK between the legs! Baby is moving like a crazy child just like before. Moving so much we couldn't even get a picture. Baby would NOT stay still LOL. And SPREAD EAGLE flashing us. Doc says "Wellll do you want to know what you are having?" I said YES! We are going Wednesday to have a 2D sono to find out early! You see me staring at the pictuer trying to see anything between the legs LOL! He said WELL were you hoping for a GIRL? I said YES! So 90% sure we are TEAM PINK! Had to tell someone PHEWWW LOL we are keeping it a secret from the rest of the world until Christmas. But I'm still doing our elective sono on Wednesay so my hubby will be there and to make sure nothing was tucked in. But that baby was flopping all over the place and there was NOTHIGN flopping in between those legs LOL. Possible bad news.... I don't recall the name of what he called it. But he says that we will check again at 20 weeks and go from there if it's still an issue. The reason I am now not feeling baby if becuase baby is behind the placenta. And the placenta is low. Low enough to cause concern. But Doc says we still have time for the placenta to move and grow where it should be. So prayers! XOXO I'm going to focus on baby kicking and heart beat perfect AND pretty positive TEAM PINK!!!!! WHOO HOOO!

your dr needs to check it closer to 28-30 weeks, not 20 weeks. it can still move between 20 weeks and in 3rd tri

Congrats!

Also, it sounds like you have an anterior placenta and placenta previa -- meaning towards the front of your uterus and low (possibly near or over the cervix). At 16 weeks, yes, it may still move upwards.

Yes, he said even at 20 wks he would continue to check it. Buy at this moment he doesn't want me to be concerned.

Hooray for good check ups! I had my 16 wk appt today too (a few days early) and heartbeat is still going strong and everything looks good :) I always hate those few minutes of panic when they are first looking for the heartbeat... and then so happy when they find it nice and strong!
