RussianMommy:my midwife allowed me to take gravol when i was throwing up for 14 hours. ask if you can take it.
What does this have to do with the flu? Gastroenteritis is not the same as Influenza. The real flu is a respiratory illness, which is what OP is speaking about. OP, call your doctor, if it is truly the flu, they will probably want to start you on Tamiflu as long as the onset of the symptoms is within 24 hours. Best of luck!
because FLU can mean a lot of things, it doesn't always mean INFLUENZA. I say flu/fever if I'm sick, because it gets the POINT across that I am SICK.
This is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Flu does not mean a lot of things; it means influenza. Hence "flu" being part of the word.
The phrase "stomach flu" gets thrown around a lot, but there is no such thing. Flu has nothing to do with the gastrointestinal tract. Take this as a lesson learned rather than getting defensive and stop spewing misinformation.
OP, I'm sorry you're feeling bad, but I agree with the posters who told you to go home and get to a doc. There is something you can do when you don't have any personal time left; you can take unpaid days. And you should do so, in this case. Feel better.
