i'm bringing her diaper bag, with a few outfits, diapers, wipes, binki, socks, spit up cloth, hat, swaddle blanket, heavy blanket (since it's December and freezing outside), and her infant carseat.

i'm also planning on bringing an extra bag, because last time we had so many people stop by and bring DD something, we needed more room to take it all home, plus the stuff the hospital gave us as well. :)

GL

Onesies and jammies for in the hospital.  They may or may not have receiving blankets for baby, but most likely yes.  Cat seat, shower-cap style car seat cover, and warm hat for the ride home.  The hospital should have diapers and wipes, but you may want to call ahead.  With my first baby they had wipes, but not with my second.  They stopped providing them, because people were "flushing" them.

I packed about five days of clothes and a heavier baby blanket because it was so cold last time in the hospital. I want a vbac, but packed enough junk for another csection stay. :) I also packed binkies and nail clippers. Our hospital wouldn't clip LO's incredibly long nails last time or provide clippers to do it myself.

If you want your baby in cute outfits, bring them. I left DD in the hospital-provided onesies/mittens and wrapped in a blanket most of the time.

Bring a coming home outfit . . . and a backup in case the first one gets dirtied.

My hospital provided diapers and wipes.

I'd get a carseat cover (like the BundleMe) so you don't have to worry about a snowsuit or anything bulky like that. And definitely a hat if you don't want LO to wear the basic hospital one home.

I'd also recommend bringing the baby book so they can stamp the baby's hand/foot prints right in it for you.

You might ask your hospital what the provide. Mine doesn't allow babies to be in anything but hospital issue garb as part of their infant security measures, so there's no need for me to bring anything but a going home outfit.

Def ask the hospital.  I packed all kinds of things...and I only used a going home outfit and a nail file for her.  Seriously, she was naked/swaddled while there and the hospital provided diapers, wipes and even hats and outfits!

I cloth diaper, so I brought my own diapers, but your hospital might provide you with some. Same thing with wipes. I also make my own shampoo/wash so I brought my own, but they do provide there if you need. I only used 1 outfit for him to go home in, an outfit for backup, and a few blankets.

Maybe a nursing pillow? I didn't bring it, I travel light. I just used pillows.
