Places for the baby to sit/lay throughout the home

Hi everyone.  This is a question for people who live in multi-level homes. We have a 3 level townhouse (basement, main level and 2nd level). I'm wondering if we need to invest in someplace for the baby to sit on each level or just on the main floor. We already have a swing for the main level. We will have a pack n play in our bedroom upstairs and obviously the crib will be in the nursery upstairs. Would you recommend investing in someplace for the baby to sit for each of the other levels of the house (like the basement, which includes and office and lounge area) or would you just plan on moving something like the Rock n Play or Bouncer around with you as you move throughout the house? If you have the Pack and Play in the bedroom can you just lay them down in the bassinet part of that while you're up there getting ready and stuff or do the need someplace else to sit? I'm just trying to figure out what we'll need without going overboard and buying the whole store. Thanks!

Bouncers are lightweight and easy to transport. I stick dd in hers when I'm showering and then move it back to the living room when I'm done.

If you really want a swing then only a travel swing makes sense to move between floors. Ours is the fp snuga bunny and a bear to move down the hall! Swings are great to buy used because you only get a few months use out of them. I paid 65 for mine off Craigslist.

Never used a rnp so can't comment except to say that you don't need one of everything available on the market and there is no way to know what lo will and won't like so try borrowing or delaying some purchases.

I have a try level house. I had an upstairs bouncer  and then one for my lowest level. It was easiest to move the bouncers around. I did also have a rip and moved it around daily. I liked having the rnp because its at a good level if you are sitting on the couch. The bouncers are so low when you are sitting on the couch. I also had a pnp upstairs as well.

One thing I was completely unprepared for was after giving birth the drs didnt want me walking upstairs for 2 weeks. I know I had stitches but was too afraid to ask about the degree of the tear. So poor dh had to move everything downstairs where we lived for the first few weeks.

With my first, a lot of the time I would just tote my Boppy from room to room. I would lay out a comfortable blanket on the floor or sofa and sort of prop the baby on it. Depending on what You will be doing in the room, will probably determine what you want. i.e. a pillow or boppy is fine, if you are just sitting there watching t.v. or something, but you'd probably want something more secure like a bouncer/swing or something if you are doing chores in the kitchen and won't be within arms reach every second.

Boppies are highly recommended for this on the multiples board.  I've got one but I want another one or a boppy lounger.

Current plan is:

Crib and play mat in nursery

Pack and play in master bedroom, stocked with supplies

Tummy time mat and swing in living room, and a Rubbermaid container stocked with extra supplies

Bouncer and Boppy for "everywhere else"

Wow. That sounds like a lot of crap.

A bouncer or boppy newborn lounger can easily move around the house with you.

We have a tri-level town house too. Top floor (bedrooms) will be co-sleeper/crib/swing... main floor will probably be bouncer.. basement will be PNP. We also have a nap nanny and a RNP to move throughout (probably don't need all of these things.. a lot are hand-me-downs I didn't want to refuse).. But I do like the option of having at least one seating option per floor.

We have a 2-story house. We ended up getting 2 Boppys at our showers, so we left one on each floor along with soft padded blankets.  If I was only going to be in a room for a while, I'd prop her in the Boppy.  If I was going to be in there long enough that she'd get bored in the Boppy, I'd just move the bouncy seat between floors.  (We had this one, which is very portable and keeps DD entertained for long periods of time- http://www.fisher-price.com/en_US/products/62716 )
