So I tried Nipple stimulation...

To see whether or not it would help jumpstart labor. (nothing yet)
I used my manual breastpump for about 10-15 minuets.
I switched back and forth to each nipple about every 4-5 minuets.
And now my right nipple hurts like hell for some reason.

Also tried walking on the treadmill for 30 minuets. And once again, nothing.
I've pretty much tried everything in the book, so I guess I'll just wait it out from here.

The baby will come when she's ready. And pumping probably hurt your nipples because you shouldn't be pumping until after the baby is born.

I don't think there's any instantaneous way to induce labor.

I don't think that nipple stimulation can truly happen with the pump. I think it takes hours and hours at a time, sometimes days/weeks for it to work.

ANDDDDDDDD if it DOES work, it really only means baby was ready to come anyway.

I've had both my babies way past due and don't expect this one to be on time either. We tried it ALL. Everything. Anything. 41 weeks I was induced for various health issues and had both girls within a few days. Good luck.

I just thought it was a weird announcement.

And my son was 9 days late... so I do understand.  I also understand that they come when they're ready.  But happy pumping! Big Smile

I think anyone who's been in the late stages of pregnancy can understand where she's coming from; however, it doesn't change that babies come when they're ready to.

Pumping probably hurt bc your nips aren't used to that kind of abuse :) nursing and pumping HURT the first couple weeks (for me anyway). 

My best advice is to give up all control. Try to accept you are just a vessel until your LO decides it's time. If you can accept that and relax, maybe that will give LO an extra push? But walking is a good idea too, if only to get some exercise and get your mind off things.  GL mama

When you start nursing or pumping your nips are going to hurt pretty bad, I used lanolin from target. It takes a few weeks for them to get used to it. It's all well worth it in the end. Good luck. I don't necessarily think your body can be forced into induction, I think it is a process you have to start preparing our body for around 35 weeks, but here is something you could try. http://www.milescircuit.com/  A doula created this for helping baby to drop into position to start laor.

Have your hubby or bf rub your feet and ankles. There are pressure points there that can start contractions.

I think nipple manipulation would mean like... during sex perhaps or a few tweaks on your own.  But, using your breastpump?  Oh my hell yes that would hurt.  It can be painful even with milk production in the works.  Maybe try some stimulation during sexy time with your partner.  I would leave the pump alone for now.

None of these tricks will start labour unless baby is ready to come.  Sorry.  They might help labor continue if it has already started or stalled though.  DS came at 41w1d and I did it all from about 40w3-5d. 

My mw said at the time that having lotsa $ex can help, but I don't think it did, she said all of those other things can't hurt, but your probably just wasting your time.
