Where are you registering?

I figured BabiesRUs is the easiest route, but my husband is telling me to do some price checking and register at the place w/ the cheapest prices (AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT!).

What are you all doing?

I'm making registries at BRU, Target, and Amazon. BRU is where people automatically go around here, Target is the cheaper physical store here, and Amazon has a lot of items that are not carried in local stores.

IS IT TACKY to include in the baby shower invitation something along the lines of "price shop".

Obviously, I wouldnt ask the person sending the invitations to word it like that, but just a little note about it... I dunno. I wanna save my peeps some $

I am going to register at Babies R Us  Baby Depot, and Target. I know Walmart does price match but I rather not register there.

I was just in a BRU today and they had signs posted about price matching, other stores do that too. Register at a few places and your guests can check out what is in their price range. I know my parents will probably buy us some of the bigger ticket items we register for and while my mom will buy us what we pick out, if she can find it at a cheaper store or do price match- great!

I am not registering this time around since I don't need anything, but with my first pregnancy we registered at Babies R us and Target. Target has better prices, but I did notice we got more gifts from Babies R Us.

For my shower with DS, we registered at Buy Buy Baby and Target. I loooove BBB, and Target was basically our "convenient" option.

I'll probably register at Walmart because I know it is the most convenient for a lot of people I know. I'll be registering at BRU as well, though. My concern is researching each item I choose to make sure it is safe and a quality product - then I'll register where it's the cheapest between the two. In my mind, they're generous enough to buy gifts for me, I can at least try to make sure they don't have to pay a ton extra.

I registered at Amazon because most things are much cheaper there, and I'm going to register at BRU because that's might be more convenient for some people. The Target nearest me is tiny with a tiny baby section, so I'm not going to register there.

I'm just doing Babies R Us to make it easy, they have everything. Doing multiple places gets complicated and if say you only register for small stuff at Target and big stuff at Babies R Us what if everyone only goes to Target so none of your necessities get bought.

I think I'll be registering at BRU and Amazon. Mainly: Most of my family and friends will either go to BRU or shop online...

And, I am going to do everything in my power to NOT register at Target. I did for my wedding. Their policy was that if I didn't have a receipt I could only return $50 of gifts per year. They wouldn't give me a gift card to THEIR store, nor could I trade things out for a different color or anything. Even when it was on my registry! Yeah....it was the first time I yelled so much at an employee. I felt bad afterwords because I know she couldn't do anything about it.

So....If I do end up registering there, I will definitely add something like "please attach a receipt to your gift, in case we get duplicates". Because I am not going through that again.

We'll probably do Babies R Us, even though I would really like to do Buy Buy Baby.  But, there's only 1 Buy Buy Baby in like a 100 mile radius, and I don't want people to go out of their way.  Well, maybe I'll register at both.

We're registered at BRU, Buybuybaby, Target, and Amazon. This way the guests have options and multiple price ranges.

I think we'll be doing buybuybaby and Amazon. we don't live anywhere near a babies R us but live 10 min from a BBB. I was thinking about doing Target as well to be convenient to people but they don't have most of my choices and 3 registries feels like a lot.

Walmart and Shopko which is like Target.  These are the only 2 main options in my town and this is also where most of the guests are from.  The closest BRU is 4 hrs away and Target is 2hrs with most people buying in person rather than online.

I'm registering at Target and Babies R Us. I like having the price ranges and I can't justify having family/friends pay an extra 10-30 dollars at BRU for the same things I have found at Target.

I registered at Target. BRU i just too expensive, and there are a million Targets around here. I know people have bad things to say about their registries, but we registered their for our wedding there and didn't have any negative experiences.

I started a registry at BRU and then discovered BUY BUY BABY. They are cheaper and take bed bath and beyond coupons. I also started one on Amazon. But I'm going to try and narrow it down to one.

We are doing BBB, BRU, and Amazon.  It's 2012, not only do your friends know how to shop online, but your old aunts and uncles do too at this point.  BBB has some stuff I do not see at BRU, and I like that both basically have 20% off.  Amazon is even better for stuff not found elsewhere (the 47 inch boutique Aden + Anais swaddlers, on sale for $35!) and some people have Amazon credit cards they will use, maybe spend bigger!

I'm registering at Buy Buy Baby.  I hate BRU and avoid it like the plague.  If you register there, be careful of some of their automatic add-ons. They will automatically add on gift cards to your registry and put something along the lines of "gift cards are welcome" (barf, tacky) and they also automatically add the buyer protection plan to each item and then have the cashiers push it at the register.  It just seems sneaky and underhanded to me.

For some things, but you really need to know prices.  I bought some Tommee Tippee bottles at BBB and and I wanted to get some more and checked Amazon, they were 3x the price. It's not the first time I've noticed that either. I'm a huge Amazon shopper, but sometimes their prices are way higher than other stores on some things.

Since you should only register for items you'd buy yourself, pricing things does make sense. However, it's nice to register at places that are easily accessible for your shower guests. That being said, if I find something on someone's registry that is cheaper elsewhere, I've just contacted the registry store and told them to mark it purchased.

I worked at BRU for a while and we never added it on without asking the customer. Yes, we were 'supposed' to be selling a certain number of protection plans per week or whatever, but I could never imagine adding it on automatically without the person knowing because you have to give them the brochure thingie with the product number and stuff on it. And also, just thought of it, the actual item is not rung up from the registry paper, we rung up the actual item, and then had to just scan the registry bar code so it would come off the registry. You have to actually scan the bar code on the protection plan sheet to add it to your sale.

At any rate, I registered at BRU (gift cards were not placed on it), and I have price-checked a lot of things, and most things that I want (pack n play, swing, bouncer, travel system) I have found cheaper at BRU. The same or similar styles were more expensive at other stores, or they just didn't carry what I wanted so it was hard to translate the entire registry to another store. Also wasn't sure if I should register the same items at multiple stores, I don't want to get two of something that I only need one of and it seems like a major time waster to have to return something.
