Pregnitude

Hello!  Does anyone have any experience with Pregnitude?  I'm starting it this cycle.  So far, so good, as far as side effects are concerned.

The name is definitely a little silly.  Just curious to see if anyone else has taken it.

Sorry!  The link is http://www.pregnitude.com/ .  It is in fact a real supplement, despite the awful name.  My doctor recommended I give it a try.  It is fairly new.

Do you have PCOS? I googled the main ingredient and I guess it's a new thing for PCOS. I've never heard of it before now.

It's not new. Someone is cashing in on those that don't realize you can buy folic acid and myo-inositiol separately for far cheaper than what they offer. And if you don't take them with the rest of the B vitamins (which is all they are) you will have pretty much zero effect. B vitamins work best with taken together and in the proper ratio.

Myo-inositol is found in fruits, nuts, and beans. A deficiency can contribute to insult resistance. There are allegedly other benefits, but all supplements make lots of claims. There is really no reason to spend $35 on something you can get for $10 without the stupid name.

GM, I was going to page you regarding this. You were the first one that popped into mind regarding over the counter stuff. I was reading up on the myo-inositol, and I was wondering why OP isn't just taking a prenatal...

I am taking a pre-natal.  Also, I'm not naïve enough to simply let someone "cash in" on my infertility. I was just simply wondering if anyone on the board has any experience with the supplement.

I don't think GM was directing that comment towards you, I think she meant this whole "Pregnitude" brand. Since it's easy to obtain all that's in Pregnitude through over the counter supplements that are likely cheaper, the company just seems to be putting a pretty package and silly name on something that's already available.

I wanted to bump this up a little and see if there were more opinions. I went to the doctor today because of my 70 + day cycle and she gave me a sample of Pregnitude. I think I am going to give it a go, at least for a month and see if it makes any difference in O date.

FWIW I have done some preliminary research and it looks like this is good for people who want to make sure they are taking the right amount of the supplements. I will be looking into it some more before I start ingesting it, but I would like to hear if there are any more thoughts...

If you can get the same supplements somewhere else for cheaper then yes, I think you are letting some one "cash in" on your infertility. Did you do any research on this or did you just jump on board because your doctor told you to?

ETA: I just read the website. WTF does a supplement have anything to do with "quality of eggs?"
