EDIT: Those Who Are Newly PG

EDIT: Changed the titled...the more I looked at it, the more I felt like an idiot.

Read this:

http://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/1/10241242/ShowThread.aspx

I mean: read it now. Before you post ever again. Not to be "rude" but...you'll save yourself a lot of emotional hurt if you just read that first, then if your question is not answered in that post, or on google, then you may post your concern.

-slides away so I can actually get some work done-

Edit: took away some unnecessary words, I get wordy...what can I say.

ETA: Before you all think I'm solely whining about all the whining, I copied a comment I made below:

This post has an actual hint of truth to it. When I first got on here, I didn't know they had that post, so when I read it at like 10 weeks I felt like an idiot. I'm trying to prevent that from happening to all the other noobs. Shockingly, I'm not trying to be 100% rude and snarky.

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker BabyFruit Ticker
I am friends with President Obama. I asked him to dress up in an Easter Bunny costume and show up at my parents' house with a giant check for $1 million a la Ed McMahon on Easter Weekend. We were going to make them think that they had won Publishers Clearinghouse sweepstakes LOL. As soon as they answered the door, we had our friend stage a robbery - they made it look like everyone in the Publisher's Clearninghouse van was violently murdered. They threw the "bodies" out of the van onto the street and peeled out. We had a fake ambulance and police show up. Then my parents' neighbors came by with a basket of kittens - they were SO cute! Just when my parents were so freaked out by seeing kittens after a murder/robbery AND having won $1 million, we had Pres. Obama take off the Easter Bunny head and say "Surprise!! You're going to be grandparents!" My parents will never forget that moment. - Pillowass

Welcome to the Bump.

20% actual pregnancy related questions and concerns, or general comraderie.

80% bitching about the people bitching about bitches.

Phoenix - August 19, 2006
Avery - March 16, 2011

Things to avoid during pregnancy: Eye contact with cats. Cats will suck the burgeoning life right out of you, using their infamous feline mind-powers. Avert your eyes, and move along.

FACT: 1 in 10 people are said to be a carrier of Listeria. Therefore you should avoid all shopping malls, grocery stores and busy street corners for the duration of your pregnancy. Or microwave anyone you contact until steaming, just to be safe.

1. This is a first trimester board. It's natural that new people will have questions that the old people are sick of hearing about. Stick to your birth club if you don't like it. I will never get the human drive to have "cliques", even on the internet. It's completely absurd. I thought it ended after high school.....

 2. I agree about the "am I pregnant" questions. It annoys me a bit, too. Yes, *if* they are pregnant (you can't say that they actually aren't unless you *know* they aren't, so that statement in the link is absurd), they belong here. But if not, they don't. I believe TTGP is more up their alley, but I've lurked over there, too, and the ladies who have been there more long-term can get *really really* nasty to new people who ask questions, who don't know any better, or who simply require a little human (even internet) contact. They are so consumed with their own struggles that the needs/feelings of others are ignored. I don't get this tendency of females to act like this. Extremely self-absorbed. Oh, and I tried for a year (actually about 13 months), so I'm not a stranger to crying one's eyes out when my period arrived cycle after cycle. I have sympathy, but my sympathy does not cover all sins. Unfortunately, those who just "don't know" really have nowhere on The Bump that they can go where they will feel supported. Everywhere they go, they will likely get their heads chewed off. Such a shame. You were all noobs once, too, you know, and I'm sure you've asked some pretty dumb questions in your time, too.

3. Anyone who is emotionally hurt by something that happens on the internet needs to get off of it for a while. It's the internet. Everyone needs to get a little perspective.

4. Grumpy Cat's the best.

Yeah, it doesn't matter if there is a "hint" of truth to it. People will ALWAYS post the same questions over and over again. Please don't make me sing my "Circle of The Bump" song.

Posts like these are honestly just as annoying.

I definitely know that. And the repeat posts aren't what bug me, it's the DD's that happen because they didn't like the answer...you know?

Sorry for being annoying, I was actually trying to help without sounding like a AW or "Oh Look Over Here, I'm Complaining Too" post. (I go post crazy when work is slow).

I was actually referring to your original (Public Service Announcement) post. However harmless your intention to save the "newbs" from themselves, repeat questions are inevitable, and repeatedly going through "Hey Newbs, this is how it is" posts is just as annoying (if not more so) than going through the repeated questions I've seen over and over again.

For the record repeat questions don't annoy me. Probably at all. I could answer the same question 1232385982 times and still go on with life - if I had a problem with it (this fact of bump life) I would stay away from the forums entirely.

Everyone figures it out on their own the little social rules that go along with the internet... eventually.

We are on the same page =D I just posted before you made this comment, it fits as a reply (about the "repeat questions don't bother me", It's easy to skip over the title "Am I pregnant?!" posts).

ETA: My tone in my title must not have conveyed well...because (to me) it didn't sound like I was complaining...i guess I was just trying to think of something clever Confused Better luck next time

Love it! I so didn't know this was on here. Before I started reading I wondered what stupid questions I asked or talked about. LOL! I however just read everyone else's posts and answered most of my questions...(sigh of relief).

Thanks for posting this...nice to know it is here. Funny to read it now that I'm out of the first tri.

You are a peach. Clearly, you don't go on TTGP very much, otherwise you would see the support that many women give each other through losses, IVF, etc, and life in general. You can say that people are self absorbed, immature, or whatever, but odds are the people who get upset over things posted over the internet usually fit these categories.

Oh... and you tried a month longer than it normally takes a healthy couple to get PG. Yes, each month sucks no matter how long you try, but don't try and group yourself into the IF group (no you didn't outwardly do this but your post comes across this way).

People are going to post what they want on the internet. If you don't like it, ignore it. I understand that especially when PG, things can get emotional. If you find yourself getting to that state, have the maturity to walk away from the computer and not get upset about it. It simply isn't worth it.... trust me I've had some days where I've done it, too.

Is there really truely a good question? I mean almost everything you can google and find, or ask your doctor. I think most people are looking for anecdotal information, to "chat" with other people about what they are going through with pregnancy. Post whatever you want. I don't even mind the am I pregnant, because sometimes there is some funny responses.

Yeah, it doesn't matter if there is a "hint" of truth to it. People will ALWAYS post the same questions over and over again. Please don't make me sing my "Circle of The Bump" song.

Posts like these are honestly just as annoying.

Can I please hear the "Circle of the Bump" song?

Only if you pretend I sound prettiful singing it. *ahem*

It's the CIRCLE OF THE BUUUUUUUUUUMP...

*cue music*  And it annoys us aaallllllllllll....through BFPs and BFNs.... through gender reveals and mucus plugs...til we find our waaaaay... on the path to childbirth.... in the circleeeeee...the circle of the buuuuuuuuuuuuuump. *end music*

If I felt better I'd actually do a full blown parody video, but it's too much work. Maybe someday... I have no life.

From this point forward I will forever think of the bump when watching the lion king!! Great song!
