Introducing myself....

I'm sorry if this is a re-post, I tried to find my original post, but couldn't see it.  Anyway, my name is Alicia and I have a 2 and a half year old son, been married to my husband a little over 3 years.  When my son was born, we sincerely intended for him to be an only child.  My husband has only one sister and I myself am an only child, so we were very comfortable with a small family.  However, after the loss of my in-laws to sudden and quick illnesses, we re-evaluated our situation and decided that we would like to add another child to our lives and give our son a sibling. 

I had my IUD taken out last week and wil begin trying in earnest in a month or so to work on conceiving baby #2. 

In all honesty I am a bit scared to have two children in the house.  Growing up an only child, who was very quiet, reserved and content to play by myself, a household with two children is a big change from what I'm used to.  My son is active and I love it, but having two around will be a whole different experience, one that I do have some fear of.  Any ladies have advice for me as I embark on this new "mommy of two" adventure?  Thanks!!

I'm sorry to hear about your in laws! I think having 2 children can be challenging, but I'm sure it's worth it. I think giving your child a sibling is so worth it. Welcome and good luck!

DX with ectopic pregnancy at 8 weeks, surgery to remove right tube 01/18/13
Both ovaries and left tube looked healthy and clear, so we'll see what the future holds for us.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Good luck trying for number 2! We will be trying for number 2 too! I am an only child but have had the opposite reaction: I'd love to have a big family. DH is one of four kids and is a bit more realistic about it than I am...we'll see what life brings!

I've heard that it gets easier with the second child, because you feel more relaxed...it's not as new or scary.

Welcome! Both my husband and I are only children, currently trying for our first. We've talked about having more than one but we'll see how it goes. I agree that the thought of a larger family seems strange, and almost intimidating, when it's not what you're used to.

November 2012: Paratubal cyst found during U/S.
January 10, 2013: Lap removed paratubal cyst and Stage 2 Endometriosis.
January 2013: Unmedicated. P4 was 8.4. Meds recommended.
February 2013: Femara 2.5 mg and TI. P4 was 8.5. Meds will be doubled next cycle.
March 2013: Femara 5 mg and TI. P4 was over 11.
April 2013: Femara 5 mg and IUI#1. P4 was 11.4. Post wash over 40 million.
May 2013: Femara 5 mg and TI. Vacation during FW.
