Fundal Height...Growth Ultrasounds...Fluid Level Question

I am soon to be a STM and had my first via scheduled c section due to suspected macrosomia & CPD {no trial of labor, just large fundal height measurements and growth ultrasound estimates}...

 At my 37 week appt last week, my fundal height was 42 so they sent me for a growth ultrasound and the baby's est. fetal weight was 6lbs 9oz, so weight and size were within normal range. But my fluid levels were what was tipping the scales, so to speak, with fundal height. I have no history of GD or any other pregnancy complications.

But of course, made the mistake of googling about fluid levels. Now I am scared something is wrong with the baby! {Textbook mistake, I know}

Anyone with experience like this? Tell me your baby was fine? The Dr. only popped his head in afterwards and said "baby looks fine, you just have a lot of fluid. See you next week."

Don't have a any experience with fluid levels.

Can you share more about the suspected macrosomia and CPD with your first? What weight were they estimating and what was the actual and at what week did you have the c-section? Curious. Keep reading about how ultrasound measurements are rarely accurate.

I should have added I am hoping for a VBAC this time around!

To answer your questions....my fundal height measured 4-5 weeks ahead my entire third trimester. My overall weight gain was 25lbs (I am 5'4" and 115lbs normally). And #1 was a boy. He was estimated at 10lbs at 38weeks so they delivered via c section at 39weeks.....he was only 8lbs 2oz. So yes, ultrasounds can be very wrong!!! Hence, why I am hoping for a VBAC this time.

Oh no, google is the worst sometimes. I had a friend who had this and it was no big deal. Just happened to have a lot of fluid. If your doc isn't concerned and you trust him/her, I say don't sweat it.

I honestly wouldn't worry if the doctors aren't worried.

I am also a STM who had a scheduled C with DD owing to macrosomia -- she ended up being a BIG 10 lbs 9 oz with a large head.

With this one, I am again measuring big -- my fundal at 36 weeks was 40. I went for an U/S about a week ago, and baby was at 8 pounds, with an estimated 40-week weight of about 9.5 pounds.

HOWEVER, doc then said that the bigger the baby, the more room for error in the U/S estimate and that based on my fundal and just how I look, he thinks more like 10 pounds or slightly more.

My fluid level was OK -- at least, they didn't say anything to the contrary.

So I am wondering if maybe your estimate is just off. How big was your first baby in the end?

I just had my last growth ultrasound and my fluid is on the high end of normal.  My OB said it was fine.  My babies are large, even with high bp.  My baby's estimated weight today was 8lbs 3oz and I'm 38w 2 days.  I believe it though because my 2nd was born at 39w and was 9lbs even and my first was between 37.5w and 38w and was 8lbs 1oz. They tend to have large heads too.  This will be my third c-section.

I know they can be wrong, but with my history I bet they're close with their estimate.

Try not to google, I did that when they said high end of normal fluid wise and I shouldn't have either!
