EDD way off!!!

Hi everyone!! We just had our first sono, and everything went really well!  Baby has a strong heartbeat! 

I was just curious if anyone else's EDD was changed after their first sono? According to my LMP I would be due around 7.17.13.  But, I just had my first u/s and my doctor gave me a date of 7.28.13.  He said I ovulated later in my cycle.

It's not a big deal, It's just that now I feel like I am "backtracking" going from my 8th week back to my 7th week.  lol  Anyone else experience this?

I'm guessing this happens a lot. Unless you are charting or have a perfect 28 day cycle, the estimate will be off at first.

This has never happened to me, but I do know a lot of people who were off on their calculations. It is easy to be off if you aren't charting and know exactly when you ovulated.

I was charting and had pretty regular 30 day cycles and my EDD got bumped back 11 days with my first sono. I guess that cycle I had a funny ovulation around CD 25! But, it does explain my "missed period" with negative tests, because I O'd late, my period wasn't really "late".

I had an ultrasound when I should have been 7 weeks baised on lmp. But the little bean was measuring 6 weeks 0 days and had a strong heart beat. So I got pushed back a week :
As stated I think this happens a lot as I don't think many of know for sure when the o happened.

Yes, I was almost a week earlier than I thought I was. I was very happy to hear that everything was fine, but I did feel like "dang! I have to reread what's happening this week in pregnancy. Back to sweet pea status!"

According to my LMP I would've been 8 weeks at my appointment last week. Fortunately I was charting so I knew that wasn't true. Sure enough, first soon showed I was actually 6 weeks. While it wasn't a surprise to me, it's proof that unless you are charting you can not be certain and the sono is the best way to tell!

This happened to me today. I thought I was 7w 1d and they measured me at 7 w 6 d or 8 w 0 d.  I was charting, but had a bad month of it. Somehow I missed the early O.

My cycles are way off, so first pregnancy, they estimated I was 14 weeks based on LMP. I said ughhhh no. I was only 5.

This time, I was only 3 weeks pregnant when I found out. So basically, just caught implantation. My hcg was 35. According to my LMP I should have been 6 weeks. Going for ultrasound on friday to determine. I'm guessing I'll be 7.

Based on my LMP, my due date should be March 31, but based on my first u/s, my due date was set to April 15.  Now after my 20 week u/s, my due is April 8.  lol.  Baby girl will come when shes ready.

LMP says due date is July 29th, but u/s yesterday says due date is August 5th.  I'm having another one soon so we'll see what that one says.

My doctor's office calculated by EDD by my LMP, but I had to tell them it was off.  They confirmed that my HCG levels were more appropriate for earlier in pregnancy & they did an u/s which showed nothing.  I went back today and he could feel my uterus swelling & put me down for an ultrasound next Friday, when he will put a later due date in my file.

Yes, same thing happened to me. I remember being so annoyed that it felt like I had to relive a week to get to the safepoint.  But in the grand scheme of things, that week is such a small period of time.  Hang in there!

This happened to me in my first pregnancy. It was kind of annoying to "backtrack," like you mentioned. I eventually got used to it, though. :)

When my mother was pregnant, they told her I would be born in October, give or take a month in either direction... so, I don't think 11 days is really way off.

I wouldn't say that's way off at all, in fact it's pretty common. It happened to me.

I went from thinking I'd be due with DS on Sept 12th and ended up having it changed twice. Went from 9/12 to 9/2 to 8/26 lol I think I'm due 8/13 with this baby but we will find out. My HCG levels were 196 at 4w and 450 at 4w2d, they said I might be off a few days based on my levels.
