This was our due date and we were kinda hoping for today but he arrived yesterday. After talking with the nurses we realized today is going to be a madhouse here at the hospital with high amounts of inductions a csections scheduled. Now, I'm glad we aren't competing with everyone else. : good luck ladies!

Wow, I never thought of people purposely scheduling their inductions and c-sections for today. Maybe it will be a good thing if I don't go into labor today! :-)

Everyone wants it to be today but I'm not seeing any signs. I agree that it will likely be a mad house today.

Today is my mom's birthday. 54yrs ago the most important woman is my life was born. So any babes born today would be totally awesome!!!

Today is my due date. Had my membranes stripped yesterday. Been cramping and having lots of pressure and pain since then. Even have been passing my plug. I don't care about the day. I just want to have the baby

My sister is 40w3d so we were joking that maybe he was holding out for a cool birthday but nothing yet! She still has time, it's #2 for her so maybe she'll go quickly this evening!

I was reading yesterday and the article said a lot of inductions and RCS were scheduled for today as well as weddings because it's the last time in the century we'll have a tri-date like this. There was also a yahoo article of this boy that turns 12 today, 12/12/12 at 12:12pm but they say he's not special lol.

I wish I'd gotten pregnant about a month earlier just to give the baby a shot at a cool birthday (I'd never opt to induce though just for the date).  I'd really been hoping for 11/11/11 but that clearly didn't work out.  I guess I should be happy I got pregnant at all! Stick out tongue

I think that you are missing the fact that MOST people were already going to be induced for medical reasons therefore got to pick the date they wanted. Just as I chose 12/21/12 to be induced because I have GD. It is not uncommon or insane to pick the date of your induction.

When LO was breach back at our 36 week appointment, we set our c/s to today, but she flipped the next week. I'm glad we didn't go today, my doctor is on call today and she had 5 back to back c/s's scheduled.

I agree with this. I have to have a C-section this time for medical reasons and was given the choice of Jan 2, 3 or 4 and chose the 3rd because 1/3/13 was a "cooler" birthday. If you have to have a C-section or be induced anyway, why wouldn't you pick a fun day?
