Opinions needed please

My DH and I like the nickname Hallie if we are having a girl. I have read online that it can be a shortening of Harriet, Henrietta, and a few other names that we don't really want to use as a first name. What do you think of using Hallie as the first name? We were thinking Hallie Amelia...

I like it as a stand alone name, I prefer the spelling Halle.

I don't think Hallie is a good stand alone name - too nicknamey/little girl sounding.  I also dislike the Halle spelling - Halle Berry's mother read it on a department store building and named her daughter that.
