My poor DS was diagnosed with a mp allergy. We thought that was all, but now he has eczema all over his face, neck, chest, ankles, behind the knees, etc. Pedi has told me to cut out soy as well. For now, I plan to cut all soy. However, I read online that most babies can tolerate soy oil since there aren't proteins in it. Has anyone experienced this? My other question is that the pedi has still not mentioned an allergist referral. I plan to bring this up in January at his four month appointment. What has your pediatrician done regarding allergy testing?
TIA
PS- I am new to all of this and pretty shocked that he actually has these allergies. I was in denial for awhile!
I agree with PP, eliminate all first until symptoms subside and then try it.
My son has a soy allergy, but he can tolerate soybean oil as long as it is not expeller pressed (that still contains the protein).
