Does this name suck?

We don't know what we're having yet, but the name Emerson Brielle popped into my head and I can't decide if I like it.

Last name starts with C, ends in O and is 3 syllables. So I don't even know if this name would work? Plus DH is Italian, so should we stick with an Italian name?

Thoughts?

I love Italian names so I'd lean over there before deciding.

but not a fan of Brielle at all.

Emerson for a boy or girl would be fine for my taste.

 I feel the same way.  Except I have stronger feelings regarding Brielle - I can't stand it.  And I see it popping up a lot on the board lately.  It's awful.

Hmmm - I was actually talking about if it's a girl, I didn't even realize what Emerson meant and that it's more for a boy! I've never known anyone named that before. And I heard Brielle somewhere and it's stuck in my head. I'd never heard that before either.

I don't mind Emerson. It's not very feminine, but that doesn't bother me. I'm not a fan of Brielle at all.

Not a fan of either names, sorry.  Brielle isn't too bad but Emerson is too trendy for me.  And I wouldn't worry too much about the origin of the last name.  DH is Puerto Rican and Cuban and our DD has a name that is neither.  As long as it has a good flow and you love it, it should be fine.

Sorry, I really don't like it. Emerson is very masculine to me and I just really dislike Brielle.
dx homozygous for 3 thrombophilias, poor egg quality, and most likely autoimmune problem. Anything I'm missing?

To me, the name sucks. It's a masculine first name and a princessy/trendy mn. Those are two of my least favorite kinds of names. In the grand scheme, it's not horrible but I really don't care for it.

It does suck as a girl's name, sorry OP. Emerson is nice for a boy, and Brielle is okay. I would start over. You mentioned that DH is Italian, there are plenty of beautiful Italian names to choose from. Lucia, Elena, Elisa, Aurora, Gianna, Julia, Luca, Matteo, Lorenzo.

I actually like Emerson for a girl but know that it is not well received on this board - but the combo of Emerson Brielle sounds SUPER trendy to me and I am not into names that are super popular.

I agree.  So many popular girl names nowadays seem best suited either to boys or to young girls, not to grown women, which our daughters will spend most of their lives being.

I like both but not together.

Brielle is actually one of the names at the top of our girl list. I don't see it as trendy or "princessy". I first heard of it quite a few years back and have loved it ever since.
