Update: Ultrasound

Hi ladies,  

I posted yesterday about being nervous for my ultrasound, and asking what to expect.  Well, I had it today and it went pretty well!  Baby is the right size for how far along I am, and is in the right spot!  

I could not hear/see a heartbeat yet, which I assume is normal for being just over 5 weeks, right?  I am going back for un ultrasound in 2 more weeks and at that time the dr. expects to hear a heartbeat.

Thats great! Yes it is normal to not see the HB yet. In 2 weeks you should see a little bean and HB! Smile Congrats!

Congratulations.  The heart typically begins to beat around the beginning of the 6th week.  You will most certainly see the heart beating at your next u/s.

Yes, do not be concerned that you did not see a heartbeat yet.  You should definitely be able to see one in your next u/s, probably not hear it though.  It will be a flicker on the u/s screen!  It's pretty great!

Confirmation and Removal of Endo - March 2012
+#1 on 4/1/12 - m/c @ ~8w 5d
+#2 Tx cycle 4 - 5 mg Letrozole + 75iu Follsitim & Ovidrel w/ IUI on 11/13/12 - EDD 7/23/13
7 week u/s revealed THREE babies, all with heartbeats. 153bpm, 148bpm, and 136bpm
9 week u/s revealed loss of Baby B. A and C are growing on track. A measuring 9w1d with 172bpm and C measuring 9w0d with 179 bpm.
Elective sex determination u/s on 2/8 revealed... boy AND girl!

Same happened to me. I go back on Friday for my second ultrasound.

yep! That's around when I had my first ultrasound. All that was visible was the gestational and yolk sacs. :) And yep, in 2 weeks - just like you! - I got another u/s and the heartbeat! You'll love that appointment! It's so amazing!!
