First PP period worse than first PP sex

I just got my first post partum period yesterday, and along with it being the heaviest period I've ever had, for some reason everything is very achy in that area, which I've never experienced before.  Preceding the period I was sick for two days with nausea, feeling hot, and a temp of about 99.2.  I thought I was getting sick but in retrospect I think it was PMS.  PMS was never like that before I was pregnant!

I'm also feeling a little depressed that the "slender" tampons I always used before pregnancy now practically fall out of me after a short time.  Apparently things in there are not so "slender" anymore!

I had sex six weeks PP with no problem.  This is definitely worse!

It is probably silly but I am hoping that maybe getting my period will jump start my stalled weight loss.

It will get better. The first period is often kind of rough. I will say though, after I had DS, I would feel sore there at the beginning of each period and that never really went away. It wasn't too bad, just annoying. But the heaviness did go away.

I agree completely.  If it makes you feel any better, only my first PP period was terrible. The rest since then have actually been lighter and shorter than before I had a kid.

I read that just about anything is considered normal with your first PP period. I PMSed so bad that I thought I had PP depression and had a super heavy flow that was almost as bad as the bleeding after giving birth. I don't think tampons will cut it. I used maturity pads and was considering getting depends. My dr told me that it gets worse with each baby you have. I'm glad I'm stopping with two kids!

I just got my first PP period a few days ago. I was sort of depressed for some reason. I think it was just because I heard that breastfeeding usually makes it so your period doesn't come back for a while. I felt like maybe I was failing at breastfeeding...I don't know.

I've been to afraid to try a tampon so far though. The first day or two were pretty heavy, but just a tad bit heavier than my normal periods before baby.

I guess this just means that it will be a lot easier to tell when the best time would be to NOT have sex, since I'm not on any kind of birth control (I don't agree with it). :)
