AW: Bored on Bedrest...

As I am wrapping up my last day on bedrest (yes my clinic is super cautious, but I like being waited on), I wanted to share with you ladies what my DH and I have nicknamed our two embies that we transferred.  I can't tell anyone else this because no one else knows we transferred two!

Anyway...we are calling them Johnny and June because (wait for it...) they are "Cash" babies.  Bwahaha.  I crack myself up...

Have you nicknamed your embies??

Me: 28; DH: 35 1/2008 -- Started TTC
3/2009 -- FD discovered at 17 weeks
1/2011 -- Lap and HSG reveal Stage IV Endo and both tubes blocked.
4/2012 -- Consult with RE for IVF#1 -- All bloodwork and SA are normal -- Repeat HSG - SURPRISE! Both tubes are open.
May, June, August 2012 -- IUI#1-3 -- Letrozole + Bravelle + Ovidrel trigger = BFN
9/2012 -- Lap#2 to remove endo and Hysteroscopy

IVF#1 (Long Lupron) -- 12/6 ER - 20R 11F * 12/11 ET - Transferred 2 excellent blasts *
Beta #1 79.7 * Beta #2 240 * It's a GIRL!!

I love it!  I didn't nickname ours this time.  I did with IVF#1 and it was pretty horrible when it failed.  I will admit to talking to them though.

So I'm curious, at what points and for how long did they have you on bed rest?  I'm not sure how long I can make myself do it, but I wanna take the cautious route myself!!

DH calls our embie "Ibsen". He's convinced it's a boy and he wants to name it Ibsen after one of his favorite playwrights... We of course will never name our kid Ibsen but it's a fun nickname for our little embie.

PS- I'm being super cautious too! I made DH stay home with me all night so that he can "take care of me" while I lay around with my feet up!

We named every one that fertilized during the fresh cycle, obviously as a joke. There was Embryo, Embrya, Embybro, Blastie, Zygota, etc. We decided that Blastie was the one we transferred and it actually made me a little sad when I realized Blastie didn't make it! Silly but there you have it.

TTC #1 for about 3.5 years
ME: 37, PCO, immune issues?, teflon uterus (my added diagnosis)
HIM: 38, Perfect. (Showoff.)
Month before starting Clomid, spontaneous pregnancy. m/c at 7 weeks and D&C.
Four months of Clomid, one IUI, with Intralipid each cycle: BFNs all
IVF 1.0 July 2012 -- Lupron, bravelle, menopur, estrogen, progesterone supps, intralipid. 14 ER, 14 fertilized, 1 blast transferred, 2 on ice. BFN
FET 1.1 -- 10/2, transferred our 2 blasts. Lupron, PIO, estrogen, baby aspirin, prednisone. BFN.
IVF 2.0 December 2012 -- Bravelle, Menopur, Ganirelix, Prednisone, Metformin, estrogen, progesterone supps. 22 eggs retrieved on 12/14, 17 mature, 15 fertilized. OHSS anticipated so ET cancelled. 3 embryos frozen.
Broke up with old RE. Moving on to new dude. Maybe the change of scenery will be just the trick for our frosties. On BCPs for possible April FET.

P/SAIF welcome

I was just told to take it easy for a couple of days after ET, no bed rest at all. So, I guess german doctors are a bit more liberal. And considering the annoying pin boards full of baby photos in the clinic, I guess it worked for a lot of people. I'm still waiting for my turn though.

Me 32 / DH 36

Me: Lap in 2007 due to pelvic pain: Dx mild endo

So I guess during those couple weeks I can't go to my clogging class on Thursday nights.  Haha.  No, but seriously.

I am not sure my RE would have let me clog during stims even. Are you stimming? I can't seen your siggy from my phone. I think there is concern that your ovaries may twist due to their increased size or something? I honestly don't think I would feel like clogging! Actually just thinking about jarring motions makes my stomach hurt now and I am 3dp5dt!!!

Awww you are super sweet to double check on where I am in the process.  Not started yet... our IVF class is January 21st (in 37 days, 19 hours, 28 minutes, & 22 seconds... not that I'm counting).  Was really wanting to start earlier but we're holding out in hopes for a grant that is supposed to be announced between January 11-18.  I hadn't even thought about during stims.  Dangit.  Huh?
