I'm a working mom now

And I had a good day. I think C did too at daycare, although he has been going for a half day once a week for a couple months now. I loved my year off, but I think I'm happy to be back. And I never thought I'd say that. :]
Does anyone's LO have a completely different nap schedule at daycare vs. home though? At home we do 2,3,4 but I nurse him before naps [but want/need to stop!] So he has 2 good naps a day. At DC they haven't been able to get him down for his morning nap for a few weeks now so he's only having 1 midday nap there. Today it was only an hour, hopefully it will get better.

I'm hoping to get back to work part time after LO turns a year. Probably start with a gal coming in to our house twice a week for a few hours at first. I'm looking forward to it! (sorry, no help on the napping end...)

Congrats on going back to work! I am so glad to hear that you are happy to be back :) and the transition is going well.  E is not in daycare, but sometimes she has one nap a day.  Fulltime daycare is new for him so I think that in a couple weeks he should be better adjusted with the napping.

I am starting to begin the weaning process too! It should be interesting...

Congrats on being back to work and loving it!

My DD has a sitter not a d/c but yes her nap schedule is different there.  At home she has a morning nap arount 9 and an afternoon nap arount 1:30.  The sitter has one son who is in preschool and goes in the afternoon.  Josephine and he LOVE to play together, and she will not take a nap while he is home.  So, she only takes the one nap.

DS has been in DC since February and he is not on a consistent schedule at either place.  I'm assuming that once he moves over the the one year old room full time, the schedule will come.  Sometimes he takes a short nap int the morning and sometimes he doesn't.  He always takes one around lunch time, but it varies in length.  As long as he is sleeping well at night and it's not affecting his mood, I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you.

Glad your transition back to work is going well.  I was NOT ready to go back when I did, but I only got 12 weeks.  You do get used to it and I've learned to prioritize at home so I can maximize my time with him.  My "me" time is almost always after he goes to bed.

We try to do at home what they do at daycare to keep her on a consistent schedule. She's been in daycare since February though, so it's a bit different. I think it's just going to take a few weeks for your little one to adjust. Once he's on a good schedule at daycare, you might adjust your schedule at home.

My daughter just moved up to the tots room at our daycare and they only do one long mid-day nap in there. I was worried that she wouldn't adjust well, but I actually think she's napping better now. She naps more hours total than she did when she was taking 2 naps. Maybe one long nap would work well for your son, too?

I was thinking this too. He usually naps 3ish hours a day at home, but is only doing 1 hour at daycare so far. We'll see, hopefully it will improve. It would cut out a nursing session too which would be nice.
