I have been lurking on TB for a couple of months now and thought I would introduce myself.
I was 'parentified' at a young age and helped to raise my brothers as my mom was a single-mother. For the longest time I didn't think I wanted kids (been there, done that kind of thing) and MH didn't really either. I am 24 and he's 25 and we've been married for 2.5 years.
I had very bad luck with bcp in high school/college (many different brands) and so just use barrier methods.
A few months ago I was very late (didn't know much about my body yet or off-cycles) and thought I might be pregnant. I tested twice - once at night and then with FMU the next day) both negative. This is when I was very surprised to find I was disappointed rather than relieved!
MH and I had a very good heart-to-heart and decided we actually do want to try and start a family!
I plan to start temping and charting this cycle and we will actually start trying in February 2013 once we get a few things knocked of the pre-baby checklist.
Looking forward to this journey!
