Pressure in cervix when standing

I'm 16 wks, I'll be 17 wks on Saturday. I'm feeling pressure in my cervix when I stand for awhile. We found out this week I have a low lying placenta, placenta previa.
Anyone else feel pressure this early? I'm trying to decide if it's because of the low lying placenta. I was going to call my doc tomorrow.

i was diagnosed with placenta previa at 19 weeks but I don't feel any pressure or anything unusual. the placenta weighs so little. it could just be the weight of everything else and things being squished and stretched around.

Well that makes me feel better that it's probably not a result of the placenta previa. Guess I'll be sitting my booty down more LOL

Call your doc right away.  Hopefully it is nothing, but if you have the beginnings of an incompetent cervix they need to catch it before it opens all the way and you go into labor.  If it is caught early enough they can stitch your cervix shut.  I don't want to scare you unnecessarily, but I think it is definitely worth talking to a medical professional.

I have this from time to time. Remember that blood flow increases to the pelvic area, and standing for long periods of time can cause that blood flow to be even stronger. Plus your baby is growing, and you may be feeling bladder pressure. It's worth a call, but I really don't think you have too much to be worried about, especially if it improves once you lay down for awhile. I'd be more concerned if it was constant and persistent and over a period of a few days.
