levibriana:Thanks for all the help! Well we love both names! DH can't decide either, we have always loved the simplicity of Ella, but it's popularity bothers me, but I love it! Haha and Adeline is old French like DD1 Claire. But she will have a nickname Addie AND we have TONS of "A" names in our families...should that even matter?? I also love the fact that Ella has no nickname just like Claire.

I really don't think you can go wrong. Both are beautiful! Maybe wait to see if she "looks" like one name or the other.
I will say, don't assume people won't give Ella a nickname. When we named our son Luke we figured "no nickname"...for some reason, people (NOT us!) can't resist making his name longer! Way too many people come him Luke-ee (yuck). I can see people shortening Ella to Elle...so just know that can happen and may not be a big factor.
