gardennymph:A Baby Story related...
When I was pregnant with DS, I watched this only one time. I used to love this show when I was younger and wanted so bad to be a mother. However, when pregnant, watching a woman scream in pain during childbirth is not a good idea.
I seriously started hyperventilating and called my DH in hysterics. I told him there was no way I was pushing a baby out of my vagina. They were going to have to cut it out.
In my defense, I was about 34 to 36 weeks and had been laid off. I hadn't been able to catch the show before that. I was already emotional about the layoff and then BAM! Baby flying out of screaming woman's vag. Not a good combination.
So what happened for your birth, if you don't mind my asking? (If you do mind, just ignore.) Did you deliver vaginally and if so did you get an epidural?
Personally I had an "easy" labor & delivery -- from start to finish it was 9.5 hours and by the time I got to the hospital I was already 6 cm dilated. I did get an epidural because transition was crazy but I was already 9 cm when I got it, so it was basically for the last 30-60 min of it. Given how short it was, overall I found L&D to be much easier than pregnancy as a whole and having a newborn! People I know who had c-sections had it much harder in my mind, so I hope you didn't end up having to get one afterall!
