LO has it.  We were told that she would grow out of it between 6 and 12 mos.  It gets worse when she has bad reflux, or is worked up/crying.  In all honesty, I don't mind that she squeaks.  :)  But we do have to explain it to people who aren't around her very often, because they think that she is having a hard time breathing when in reality it is just the vibration that we are hearing.

I kind of like that I can hear her when she is sleeping, I think that once she grows out of it I will be checking on her every two minutes to make sure she is still breathing!

We just found out our little girl has this. we were told it usually gets worse til 3 mo and then starts to get better after that. she is 6 weeks..she sometimes has trouble feeding...slow eater...otherwise we dont mind the noisy breathing.

Yes, my LO has it, too!  How are your kids doing?  We've been to Children's Hospital in Boston at least once a week since she's been born.  I'm so done lol.  She's seen feeding therapists, ENT, GI, and got a swallow study done.  The poor kid is only 2 months old.
Is anyone else's LO aspirating?  We had to switch to formula and thicken with rice cereal.

Tammy, if your baby is choking, I'd go get a swallow study done.  It is painless and definitely worth it.  If the baby is aspirating, then they can end up with bad respiratory infections or pneumonia.  Def get it checked.  Thickening has helped my LO so much.

DS 1 had severe reflux and severe laryngomalacia.  He outgrew reflux by 9 mos and the laryngomalacia by 2 years.  It stinks but we survived.  I elevated the head of bed 3 inches and treated the reflux as it can make it worse.  We also used soy formula as he had an intolerance for cow milk proteins.  Good luck!

Yeah we had to stop breastmilk entirely because we have to thicken her feeds with oatmeal until she is 3 months.  So we are using Enfamil newborn.  Once she is 3 months we will be back on breastmilk and using Simply Thick.  I actually have a follow-up appt with her feeding therapist this Friday to talk about that.

We have been through the ringer with our little one too! She has had ENT, speech pathology with a swallow eval. and GI. She also has reflux really bad!

Does anyone have any tips in dealing with the reflux part of it?
