strep throat?

Ugghhhhh seriously feels like I've been sick for weeks.

2 weeks ago I had an awful cough and stuffy nose. I called the DR and was able to take some medicine and got better... But the stuffy nose always lingered. Which it usually does every winter due to changes in weather.

This week every night my throat has been so dry while I sleep its painful. It feels like sand paper!!

Swallowing isn't super painful, feels a bit scratchy. And I've been coughing because it just feels dry.

This morning I looked in my throat and saw a few white spots.
So maybe I have strep? Or just a very scratched throat?

I have an appt on Monday so I'll bring it up but I wasn't sure if it required more immediate attention? I have been drinking tea and just trying to soothe it. I wake up every morning feeling super run down but once I get moving I'm okay.

Just wasn't sure if its something that my dr should know about immediately or there won't be much she can do, so just wait it out?

For me, strep spreads fast and goes from no big deal to high fevers etc. so I usually go in asap and don't take any chances. Everyone is different, but my guess is if you've been sick for a few weeks you probably need some antibiotics to help kick start getting better, so it might make sense to try to see someone over the weekend. Hope you are feeling better soon!

White spots could mean strep or some other form of a throat infection. Either way I would definitely see the doctor sooner rather than later in case you need antibiotics. Hope you are feeling better soon!

If you are running a fever >100.4, headache, or stomach-ache (nausea) then it is probably strep.  I would definitely see/call your doctor today and not wait until Monday because if it is strep it can be treated easily but if u wait until Monday you can have complications! I wouldnt risk it at all! Whether I was pregnant or not!

This. The last time I got strep, I went from fine in the morning, to sick as a dog by evening. I've noticed the older I get, the harder it hits me. If you can see someone today, I would.
