viking15:Around the house she gets held a lot because she demands it. She will sometimes tolerate the swing, but it's normally not more than about 510 minutes before she starts crying. She cries in the car seat even if it's moving most times. Sometimes if she is tired she will fall asleep if I am in the back seat with her shushing her and holding a paci in her mouth. Left on her own she spits it out and screams.
Just wanted to let you know that this will very likely get better! It is SO frustrating, but this is exactly how my DD was at that age. Trying to go anywhere with her by myself was incredibly stressful. She would scream the.entire.time in the car, and I would often find myself pulling into a parking lot to replace her paci. If DH and I were together, I would always have to be in the back seat with her. She would sometimes be ok when we got wherever we were going, but we would often have to leave because she was screaming.
I think this is pretty common for very young babies, because it was a common theme in my new mom's group. However, she got so much better around three months old! She's now almost five months, and she will generally either quietly look around or fall asleep in the car, and she absolutely LOVES going out. We've been taking her to restaurants, holiday shopping, etc., and she loves to look at all the people and lights. She's super well-behaved in public (so much so, that we will sometimes take her out somewhere if she is being fussy at home!).
So, even though it's hard right now, it will probably get better with time! Good luck - I know it seems like forever when you're going through it!
