We are diagnosed MFI with borderline motility and low morph.  We are in the 2WW of IVF with ICSI.  Transfer was 12/9/12.

QOTW: We'll travel to my Grandparents house about 1 1/2 hours away and also go to DH's parents house, which is local.

Your diagnosis:  Low count and severe low motility, as well as DH has anitsperm antibodies that cause said low motility

You treatment plan and date:  IVF with ICSI scheduled for the week on 1/7

 QOTW: What are your plans for the holiday season? Traveling? Staying home? We are staying home, kind of. My parents and the inlaws all live within a couple of miles from me and DH. So we actually stay the night at my parents to have Christmas morning and than head to his parents house later in the morning. Than we go back and forth between families. This will probably change if/when we have children.

Second opinion at new clinic TBD
decided to stick with old clinic with new plan.

Hi! Thanks for the check in. 

DH has low count, low morph, and low motility. He had his varicocele surgery about 6 months ago. This is the first IUI that we've done since then (or ever). In the 2 week wait but will find out on Wednesday. Took a test today though and it was negative.

DX: Low count and motility

Treatment plan: Our first IVF cycle with ICSI was cancelled due to a cyst but we should be starting our next cycle tomorrow as my period started yesterday! Yay!

QOTW: We're home for the first Christmas in a while as we are normally skiing in Vail but we're saving money for IVF. So I'm excited to be home. We'll go to my parents in Christmas eve and Christmas day will be just us and we're planning to go see Django Unchained! So excited, we love Tarantino!

Dx: Low all 3, plus high ASA, mostly on the tails and midpiece.

Tx: Currently waiting to trigger from our first injects/IUI attempt. Hoping for tomorrow??? Seeing the urologist again mid-January and planning on IVF/ICSI early next year.

QOTW: Staying home. My ILs are travelling, so we're going over to my SILs house and doing a potluck.

DH has low count (under 100k), "sparse" movement & elevated FSH levels.

We've been TTC for about 2 1/2 years now. We are just waiting for AF to show up in about 2 weeks to begin our first round of IVF with ICSI.

Christmas we head back home about 2 hours away where both of our families are. Saturday game night with my side of the family at my brothers house. Sunday relax. Christmas eve we always spend with  his parents (MIL's bday that day). And Christmas day with my family before coming back home. This is the first time in 8 years that my husband and I aren't working retail careers, so we are used to only having 24hr off for Christmas each year. It will be a nice change to have 4 full days off. 
Married 8/14/10 * TTC since Aug 2010 * Met with RE in Feb 2012 * DH: low motility, low sperm count, elevated FSH * Me: Stage 4 Endometriosis * Laparotomy to remove endo in May 2012 * June 2012 - DH on Rx to hopefully increase count/quality * Re-tested sperm 10/22/12, count/quality have both dropped * IVF #1 w/ICSI * Transferred 2 beautiful embryos on 2/18/13 * Beta #1 3/1/13 - 636!!! We are low count and motility.  The times we had a few thousand they had normal morph.  We are doing IVF #3 in Feb 2013.

QOTW:  We get to work.  We get to eat dinner together at my work on Christmas day.  It's not my holiday to work but I volunteered to work since DH has to work already.

Diagnosis: low count, motility, and morphology

Treatment plan: next up for us is IVF with ICSI but I also have DOR so we are hoping to make it to retrieval

Holiday plans: we were so incredibly disappointed after our IVF cycle was converted to an IUI (and found out about DOR) that we could not think about the holidays and the many kids in our families. So we are going to the beach to just relax and spend some quality time together before we go into IVF1.2 in mid/late January. 
Me:30 low AMH; DH:30 MFI (count, motility, morphology) 2 rounds clomid 100 mg -BFN IUI#1- 25 mg clomid- July 2012= BFN! IUI #2 August = BFN! IUI #3 September = BFN! IVF #1 November - converted to IUI #4 due to poor response = BFN IVF #1.2 February- converted to IUI #5 due to poor response = BFN IVF #1.3 April- micro dose Lupron flare with HGH; 14R, 13M, 11F! Dx: Azoo.  DH had a vas reconstruction surgery in April, but it was unsuccessful and his count is still 0.

Plan: We're giving IVF with ICSI a shot in January (as long as our insurance company gets their head out of their ass by then).  They extracted a sample while DH was under, we have enough for about 4 tries.  The downside is that the sperm aren't mature so our anticipated fertilization is lower.

Jenn & MrsChopp maybe we can all be cycle buddies?!?
 
QOTW: Most of our family is fairly local.  Since DH and I don't have kids we're considered the mobile ones and will be running around to visit parents and siblings.

We are MFI due to a large vericocele and are low in all 3 areas. MH is going to have the vericocele repair surgery in Feb, after we try our 2nd round of IVF with ICSI in Jan. Our urologist claims to have a 70% success rate with the surgery and thinks MH would be the perfect candidate, since his #'s are not too low. He thinks we would actually have a good chance of getting pregnant naturally someday. What a crazy concept! However, It is hard to think positively that the surgery will be successful, after hearing so many stories about it not working or only having only slight improvement. So, we are giving ivf another shot for now. 

QOTW: We are an interfaith couple (I am Jewish and MH is Italian Catholic), so we celebrated Hanukkah with my family and will celebrate Christmas with his. Both our families live close, so we don't have to travel far.  We are so looking forward to celebrating both holidays all together when we have kids someday.

Plan: IVF/ICSI #1 in June 2012, in January will do FET #3

Your treatment plan and date: WTF with RE scheduled for 12/20. We are probably looking at dIUI at this point

Q: It sounds kind of sad but we are "skipping Christmas" this year. Our parents cannot travel to see us this year and we are too broke to travel, plus it is such an emotional holiday and we are still coping with our BFN. So we have lots of plans to go out to dinner, go to the movies and just enjoy some time off together!

DX: DH (30) severe MFI, severely low count & low motility
Me (32): all clear
Appt with Urologist 5/21/12: exam, ultrasound, bloodwork all normal.
Testicular Biopsy with TESE on 6/8/12. good sperm found! (left side only) froze sperm, failed thaw test :(
Orientation for IVF/ICSI on 6/13/12. Waiting for the green light following biopsy results...results show adequate sperm production both sides.
2nd SA 6/18/12: sample is "adequate for ICSI"
Plan: IVF/ICSI July 2012!
ER: 7/26/12. 15 eggs retrieved, all mature.
TESE/TESA/aspiration from epididymis, no motile sperm found :(
froze all eggs, the saga of praying for good sperm continues.
8/3/12: 2nd opinion from MFI uro on biopsy slides. Suspects "partial late maturation arrest."
Plan: more SAs, third biopsy/TESE with frozen back-up either from DH or DS.
SA 8/17/12: Zero sperm
SA 8/23/12: Zero sperm
9/26/12: SPERM FOUND! 15 eggs thawed, 12 survived and were ICSI'd, only 3 fertilized normally. Refrozen as embies and will thaw in Nov. Please survive and grow!
All 3 survived the thaw on 11/15/12!

Your diagnosis: Low morphology (was less than 3%, now it's 6%) & low-ish motility depending on what SA you look at.

Your treatment plan and date: DH had varicocele embolization last July and we've seen some improvement but probably not enough to conceive on our own. We just completed our first IVF w/ICSI which resulted in a chemical pregnancy. We plan to move onto FET after a little healing.

Q: Going out of state for Christmas w/ DH's father's side this weekend.  They were all pregnant before turning 20 years old and we get hounded every year.  It's extremely stressful normally, however I started a blog this year and shared it with the family that is on Facebook, so hopefully they are a little more sensitive this time around.  Other than that Christmas Eve is spent with my family and then both families attend the Eve Service at Church and Christmas Day is spent with DH's Mom's side.

Our diagnosis:  Azoo

Treatment plan:  Saving up money/losing weight for IVF #1 w/ICSI 2013 (hopefully summer).

QOTW:  We have five Christmases.  UGH. Saturday we are hosting MH's mother's family (about 7 people), Sunday is my immediate family "Christmas Eve" aka gift opening (about 25 people), Monday is Christmas Eve with MH's father's family (about 8 people), Tuesday is Christmas with my whole family (about 50 people), and then the following Sunday is MH's sibling Christmas (10 people).  I may or may not be alive for the new year.

Finished BC and not preventing since June 2010.
Actively trying for baby #1 since July 2011.
SA completed 5/29/2012. No sperm found.
11/12: Dx: Congenital Bilateral Absense of the Vas Deferens.
Genetic Testing needed as this is a mutation of Cystic Fibrosis.
IVF #1 with ICSI planned for 2013.
PAIF/SAIF welcome!

Thanks for this check-in! I feel like we are such a rare breed with not as much support! 

Your diagnosis: DH has moderate varicocele in one testicle. SA has ranged from less than 1 mil with no motility to 12 million with normal motility and morph. Did Varicocele Embolization in April, saw some improvements (2million increase) Unfortunately for IVF #1 he had a poor result...less than a million with NO normal sperm and 30% motility. IVF #1: BFN.  Last report (a week ago today) 12 million, 45% morph, 65% motility!  No known issues with me. (Thank you, Lord)

Your treatment plan and date: Due to results a week ago, IVF #2 with ICSI in January! Stims start 1/5! 

QOTW: We live about 1.5 hours from our families. Our parents live 5 minutes apart, so each year we rotate whose home we wake up in, then we go back in forth while we're there.  This will all change once we have our sweet baby miracle...they're all gonna have to come to US! :)

TTC: 05/2011 Me: 32, DH: 37

Dx: MFI Low Testosterone & Morphology 1%. We periodically experience low counts and motility too. DH's results are very inconsistant.
IVF #1 w/ICSI & IMSI, 12/09/12: ER: 27R, 21M, 15F; 11 perfect looking 8 cell embryos w/no fragmentation arrested after day 3. 4 blasts frozen b/c moderate OHSS. Scheduled FET: 02/08/13

We are spending time with the family. Lucky for us we don't have to travel!

DX: Low T/MFI- Low all 3. Morph 0-2%. 

TX: DH started Clomid and a wheel barrel's worth of vitamins about a year and a half ago (damn, it's been a long time LOL). At first it only helped the count and motility. Now that he's been on everything for this long.. his last SA showed even an improvement in morph to 6%. Maybe it was a fluke but it was awesome. We just had a failed IVF #1 so we're waiting to start #2. 

QOTW: My mom's staying with us while she's sick so Christmas day will be spent with mh and her. We're doing MH's fam partly on Christmas Eve and partly the Sat before with his siblings and parents. We did my aunts/grandpa yesterday.

and we're moving on! Domestic Infant Adoption ||

QOTW:  What are your plans for the holiday season? Leaving on Saturday to head to my parents for 5 days. I am hoping its not too stressful.
Me- Ok as 1/13 DH- Azoospermia diagnosis 1st Donor IUI planned for July

Originally it was low everything, low T and needed vericoclele repair.

He has been taking clomid and in August he had bilateral vericocele repair, and this cycle we're FINALLY trying out first IUI!

For the holidays we'll just be hanging around here. All of our family lives in town.

2/21/13 - Went to RE expecting the worse and saw the flutter of the heart...still measuring small. To God be the Glory!!
2/28/13 - heart rate = 147bpm!! Measuring on target!
3/21 - First OB Appt / hr=170bpm

...and an update on our updated treatment plan- BC/BS has decided that they will in fact continue to be difficult (I know, I'm lucky to have insurance that covers any IVF, I should be just be happy with what I have).  They're not going to approve us in time to start this cycle either, so it looks like we're starting #1 in late January with a February transfer.  Sure, there's a .005% chance that it'll come through in time, but I'm not going to put much stock in that.  

I hate IF!!!  I lost it a little on the way home from the RE yesterday.  I was there to re-do some diagnostic testing bc everything with MFI takes so freakin' long that insurance won't accept the results when we first ran testing a year ago (who doesn't want to repeat a saline sonogram for the fun of it?!).  We were supposed to cycle in December.  Then in January.  Now we're pushed out to February.  Anyway, I've come to terms with the fact that I can't control our fertility, but damn it felt like this was just spitefully taking away the little scrap of control I had left over when we cycled.  Vent over.

Best wishes to the remaining MFI Polar Bears- I'm cheering for you!

Dx: DH's first SA showed no sperm.  

You treatment plan and date:  Urology Appt on 2/7/13, waiting for confirmation on first RE appt.

And for fun answer a question each week.

QOTW:  We just visited all of the family for two days straight.

Dx: Unexplained Azoo; all blood work normal (including chromosomal abnormality screens); no blockages; 2 SAs with zero sperm, TESA scheduled for 4/11
Me: HSG, blood work - all clear Fx crossed, praying, and hopeful for a someday Baby E
