Are you registering for this?

Just wondering if anyone is registering for this soother? I want to get a couple cuddly things and I have seen this mentioned on TB several times. What does it help with exactly? White noise? Self-soothing? TIA!

I already bought mine! LOVE it! with DS2 when he was in the special care unit the hospital had one in his bed and I fell in love with it so I had to get one this time around also.

I am a FTM, but my mother bought it for my sister when she was pregnant. Her LO loves it! He is 2.5 years old and still likes to have it when he sleeps. My mom bought me one as well when I found out I was pregnant. My sister likes it bc it travels so easy and makes him feel more secure when sleeping in other areas other than his crib. Infact I think after about a year it started to wear out a little and she went out and bought a new immediatley. I believe it has different sounds...white noise, whales, maybe rain or something like, I can't rememeber them exactly. According to my sister and her LO it is a must have. :)

I have the giraffe version.  DD2 likes it now, but she was a SUPER fussy infant so it did zero good at the time.  That said, I think it's super cute, and I'd buy the giraffe one again if I had to just because I like the rainforest noises it makes.

We had a similar one for DS, it made the Mommys heartbeat sound. It didn't seem to help at all but I've had cousins who used it with their babies and swore by it. DS wasn't happy unless he was next to Mommy. I still have it so we'll try it again with this LO.

I don't know what it does, but it's super cute--and it was the first gift somebody besides me bought for LO. :)


BFP #1: 10/27/11; EDD 6/27/12; mmc 11/27/11 @9w4d (Baby measured 6w).
BFP #2: 2/17/12; EDD 10/29/12; heart rate of 78bpm on 3/12/12 @7w (Baby measured 6w); no hb 3/19/12 @8w; D&C 3/20/12.
BFP #3: 7/23/12; EDD 4/2/13; miscarried one twin 8/11/12 @5w6d, remaining twin just may be my rainbow.

DD is 6 but we did have something similar that played sounds like a heartbeat in the womb, white noise etc. DD was such a good sleeper, but we used this from day 1 so that may have helped but I usually turned it on so I will never know but I plan to use it for LO #2 this time as well.

I received one as a gift when my DS was a few weeks old and we used it for months. We think he liked it, but honestly he was such a crappy sleeper we tried everything and nothing really worked except nursing him (which I wish they had a stuffed animal I could register for to do for me overnight!). We'll try it again this time around. Our DS still sleeps better now with an air purifier or humidifier running on high, so we may have created a little white noise-dependent sleeper but hey, there worse vices!

Yes we had this for DS #1 and it was great. The only drawback is the two timer settings are 25 minutes and 45 minutes....not long enough to get them through a 45 minute sleep cycle. My son would wake up after 40-45 minutes (as most babies do) because that's the length of a sleep cycle and we were hoping the sleep sheep would have soothed him back to sleep, but the sound had stopped.

We had one for DD and used it all the time when she was smaller. I'm not sure if it helped or not, but it was cute and at the very least it helped with sleep cues since we always started it with the same sound when we layed her down. For now, we use a air purifier in her room that is rather loud so we stopped using her sheep. We will use it again for this LO. DD seemed to like the whale noises.

I did not register for this with my son, but was given one as a gift when he was about 10 months old and we love it! It has white noise and is very soothing. My son loves sleeping with it and the battery life is great.

I owned one years ago.  The sound packet is removable, so when I travel I bring it with me to block out "hotel noise".

I have one similar (Mommy Bear), I've saved it all these years from DS.  Finally almost 15 years later I will get to use it and thankfully it still works.

We LOVE the Sleep Sheep in this house. My FIL bought it for DS on a whim because it was cute and we've used it every single night since. DS is 2 now and turns it on himself when he goes to bed. We're definitely buying another for DD.

Its a white noise machine with four different sounds. The sound box is removable for travel, but there is also a smaller version if you want. We use the waves and it puts him right out.

This exactly.  It's cute and a nice item but it didn't work for us.

We have the giraffe one that velcros to the car seat and will use it again with this baby. Marpac 980a is the way to go for white noise IMO.
