Sort of in between. They usually say ahead of time whether they can come or not. No news tends to be assumed as you are attending.
Also, not taking it personally esp with the holidays! - just missed my IRL mom friends! (and needed a little vent).
Excited30: I can say that I'd sure be disappointed too. I'm sorry you had such a beginning to your day. Could you invite a friend over at some point today to have tea/coffee and share your clean house and the moment with you?
