2MamazInSeattle:Congrats!!!! I'm so glad it's finally happening for you (I lurk :)). I think I commented when you were looking for a gift to give the family who donated the embies to you once. We used donor sperm/donor egg to make the (hopefully!!!) take-home baby in my belly. But I wanted to say, too, that while we always intended to donate any embies we weren't going to gestate, you have *inspired me even more* to donate them, seeing how happy and how much joy you has been lovely to witness!!! We love the idea (and hadn't thought of it) of the open-adoption; we'd love for our child to have a genetically linked human they know openly. Both our donors were 'known at 18' types, but you never know if that works out. Anyhow, I hope you have a successful FET and in a year from now, you're cuddling your LO in your arms!!!
Oh my gosh, everything about your response makes me SO HAPPY! I so glad you're planning to donate to another couple. I can't even begin to express how incredible this gift is and what a difference our donors have made for us. Originally we weren't sure if we wanted open adoption or anonymous, and I am so firm now that open adoption is 110% the right path for us. What an incredible thing to allow them to have a relationship to a genetic sibling.
