Re-Intro and January DEmbryo FET, here I come!

Hi ladies,

I used to be an active poster last year and earlier this year as we geared up for an IVF cycle in August 2012. Unfortunately, it was a massive failure due to my severe DOR. I crawled into a black hole for a while, but started posting again on IFV a few months ago. I wanted to re-intro myself over here because a lot of you are new to me, and I'm sure I'm new to you.

We are planning an FET with our DEmbryos that we received from a donor family in Virginia. Our donors received them as DEmbryos themselves from an anonymous donor couple at their clinic who used an egg donor from Romania. While it's seems complicated and neither of us will probably ever know the actual genetic parents, we will have an open relationship between their children and our children, god-willing that this works.

Our five little snowflakes are boarding a FedEx plane today and should be in San Antonio tomorrow morning. I am on the edge of my seat praying they make it here safe and sound, but wanted to share the good news and let you know it looks like I'll be a part of the January Polar Bears group. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi and welcome back to the board.

It sounds like you're in a super-exciting stage of your cycle. The snowbies are on the way to you right now!

I think it's amazing that you and the family in Virginia will be keeping in touch. That's a wonderful way to give your future children some contact with genetic relatives.

Good luck and I can't wait to see how your cycle progresses!

TTC #1 for about 3.5 years
ME: 37, PCO, immune issues?, teflon uterus (my added diagnosis)
HIM: 38, Perfect. (Showoff.)
Month before starting Clomid, spontaneous pregnancy. m/c at 7 weeks and D&C.
Four months of Clomid, one IUI, with Intralipid each cycle: BFNs all
IVF 1.0 July 2012 -- Lupron, bravelle, menopur, estrogen, progesterone supps, intralipid. 14 ER, 14 fertilized, 1 blast transferred, 2 on ice. BFN
FET 1.1 -- 10/2, transferred our 2 blasts. Lupron, PIO, estrogen, baby aspirin, prednisone. BFN.
IVF 2.0 December 2012 -- Bravelle, Menopur, Ganirelix, Prednisone, Metformin, estrogen, progesterone supps. 22 eggs retrieved on 12/14, 17 mature, 15 fertilized. OHSS anticipated so ET cancelled. 3 embryos frozen.
Broke up with old RE. Moving on to new dude. Maybe the change of scenery will be just the trick for our frosties. On BCPs for possible April FET.

P/SAIF welcome

Thanks, ladies! It just dawned on me that they arrive on the one year anniversary of my Mom's death. I think it must be a sign that she's pulling some strings from the heaven. It's such an exciting thing to happen on such an important anniversary, it can't be a coincidence. ;-) She's still proving to be my biggest cheerleader even from the other side.

Hey! We actually live in Austin, but our Austin clinic wouldn't do the FET because our embryos had a stupid FDA hiccup. Luckily, RMA in SA was glad to do it for us and we are very lucky because they have a satellite office in Austin. We will be making our trip there for the actual FET! Are you at RMA too?

Congrats!!!! I'm so glad it's finally happening for you (I lurk :)). I think I commented when you were looking for a gift to give the family who donated the embies to you once. We used donor sperm/donor egg to make the (hopefully!!!) take-home baby in my belly. But I wanted to say, too, that while we always intended to donate any embies we weren't going to gestate, you have *inspired me even more* to donate them, seeing how happy and how much joy you has been lovely to witness!!! We love the idea (and hadn't thought of it) of the open-adoption; we'd love for our child to have a genetically linked human they know openly. Both our donors were 'known at 18' types, but you never know if that works out. Anyhow, I hope you have a successful FET and in a year from now, you're cuddling your LO in your arms!!!

Together 7 years and legally married in 2013!
Me: 41 (Excited to carry!) DW: 44
June 2012: First RE appt.due to age + plan to use DS
Sept 2012: Both fallopian tubes removed due to blockage
Dec 2012: Donor Egg/Donor Sperm IVF Cycle - BFP! EDD 8/29/13
Mar 15 2013: Missed miscarriage at 15w4d(discovered at 16w1d via home Doppler).
Mar 22 2013: D&E. Tests showed death due to (fluke) blood clot in umbilical cord. :( Genetics all good.
May 24 2013: Hysterscopy to remove uterine adhesion post D&E.
We have three frosties. Hoping for FET in late July 2013!
We live in Seattle and used SRM for our Donor Egg IVF cycle.

Oh my gosh, everything about your response makes me SO HAPPY! I so glad you're planning to donate to another couple. I can't even begin to express how incredible this gift is and what a difference our donors have made for us. Originally we weren't sure if we wanted open adoption or anonymous, and I am so firm now that open adoption is 110% the right path for us. What an incredible thing to allow them to have a relationship to a genetic sibling.

Hi Liz,

I remember you from my lurking days.  I'm in SA, too.  Best of luck to you and welcome to the Polar Bears!

Yes, I'm at RMA.  They have been wonderful! Big Smile
