lisastro:I have shingles and a 2 month old. The doc said it is only contagious through direct contact,so I keep the affected area of my body covered & wash my hands a lot. The doc also said worst case scenario, LO gets chicken pox. We all lived through it. It's usually milder the younger you are when you gt it. She said to watch him for a rash or fever. So far, he has neither.
Sorry to hear you have shingles. 
My wife got it about 12 weeks in and it was the worst pain of her life. Still feeling impossible-to-scratch itching under the skin in certain patches, 12 weeks later. The worst.
