Strange Symptom?

So last night I woke at 3 am and the arm I had been sleeping on was numb for 4 hours.  I still have a weird pain in the middle of my Palm.  I think I' m going to call my Dr tomorrow but anyone else? Suggestions?

Maybe carpel tunnel, I had a lot of numbness in my hands and arms during my last pregnancy. Doctor said that's what it was.

I had tingly hands for a while and my husband googled it for me and what he found was that basically a lot of women experience numbness or tingly feelings in their hands and arms throughout pregnancy.  Perhaps it has something to do with the growing uterus pressing on different nerves or something?  I don't know, I'm not a neurologist.  If you're really concerned, call your doctor.  (I personally think that any symptom that frightens/worries you warrants a call, because the stress alone can be exhausting and unhealthy.)

ETA: Your doctor probably receives lots of 'stupid' questions throughout the day, so if this turns out to be nothing, don't be embarrassed.  "Worry is the work of pregnancy."

I'd call the ob and go see the chiropractor.

I've had this off and on for awhile, and I think it's from sleeping on my side. I'm pretty sure mine is more of a pinched nerve situation though, because I've had pain from my shoulder down to my fingers. Usually an ice pack or a heating pad can do the trick for me.

I've had numbness in both my hands and arms up past my elbows before I was pregnant and during this pregnancy.  This was all related to carpel tunnel and sleeping with your arms pulled towards you when you sleep.  Sleeping with your arms all bent up towards your body can cut off the circulation to your forearms and hands leaving them extremely numb for a long time.  Mine have been numb throughout the night including last night.  Try to sleep with your arms straight either down at your side or out in front of you.  It feels weird to do that, but it helps with the numbness. Also, if you work either from home or at an office assess your work space.  If your arms are also bound up when you type at a desk or write, this can cause numbness at night.  Your circulation to your extremeties is doing overtime with your little one.  Doing everything you can to keep blood flow to your fingers and toes will help.  Good luck, and if you are super worried call your doctor.

Sounds like carpal tunnel to me, but ask your doc if you are concerned, that's why we pay them, for their care and to answer our stupid questions.

Please forgive my typos! I'm not as dumb as my iphone would like you to believe :)

Agreed. My hands will go numb just sitting at my desk. It's no fun.

My legs also go numb randomly throughout the day. Not too bad, just enough to be annoying.

Mine goes numb alot cause I dont move much and I sleep on it with it up and it typically falls asleep and takes some time to get the blood moving around and the feeling back. I wouldn't worry too much about it, just massage it, try to get the circulation going, and then definately mention it at your next appointment. Don't worry if its only happened once it could be that you slept on it funny.

I'm completley numb on my right hand right now and fire burning pain in my left. Awesome. Nothing the doctors can do about it really. You can try braces. I have been wearing them at night and they help a teeny bit.
