I hear a lot from people that they are disappointed when their temp dips in the 2WW, but doesn't it fluctuate in the 2WW anyway? Or will it continuously rise if you are about to get the BFP? I guess I'm not real clear on the science behind temps for impending AF vs. BFP. TIA!
Posted this in 2WW thread but thought others would want to know also.
My BFP chart with DS had a couple small dips and one huge one. Based on that I don't consider myself out unless it continues downwards and doesn't rise back up.
ETA: You can see it if you click on my ticker and scroll all the way to the bottom.
You can have random temp dips that mean nothing throughout your cycle. If it is a significant drop closer to when you are expecting your period, if often (not always) means you are not pregnant and you will be getting your period soon. I get a large temp dip right before my period starts. It goes below or close to the coverline and I know I will be getting my period that day.
