Good house cleaning routine?

Before my LO got here, I could clean the house all in a day.  Now, obviously it's much harder with a 2 1/2 month old.  I seem to be cleaning in parts now...for the bathroom... Tub one day, sink and toilet the next.  It's kind of frustrating tho because I feel like it's a constant cycle... The whole house is never really clean all at once anymore.  Anyone have any suggestions or have good tips or routines?  Thanks!

I feel your pain, hubby works all the time, I usually try to clean in his one day off (Sunday's) like i clean in stages all week and then Sunday I just do everything over again quick. Every night before bed DD1 has to pick up her toys so that helps a little to give me floor space. Haha. Usually dishes get done each night about 9pm when he gets home from work, it's my only quiet time lol. Laundry is an all day affair, I repeatedly forget that I have it in there. Lol.

I have a cleaning lady.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then success with condoms! Who would ever have guessed.

I don't have any tips for you. I just want you to know you are not alone. I'm always appologizing for the state of mess when others come by to visit. Before LO it wasn't a problem. I get up for work very early so I have to get in bed at a decent time. I can't put LO down any earlier or he wakes once during the night which is just too disruptive to my sleep. Hopefully we'll get it figured out soon.

Don't really have any tips but here is what is working for me:

M /W /F: vacuum, sweep & scrub, kitchen deep clean

T/H/SAT: bathrooms, dust, windows as needed

I do dishes and laundry on demand each day

I also make the bed and just pick up every day for my own sanity.

I keep LO busy with music and his swing. Plus I dance while I clean and sing and he thinks that's the best. I first clean living room then pick up the kitchen, wiping counters as I go.Our kitchen leads into our living room so I sweep and mop living/ kitchen area then take a 15 min break with LO. Then move him to his crib doing tummy time while I pick up his room. By that time he is sleeping and I go to the bathroom and move the monitor there so I can here him. wipe everything down and sweep and mop. Then do any tending to LO. Cuddle a while. then I am off to cleaning my room. LO sits in his bouncer and giggles to me telling him about my day so it works out pretty good. I just do all I can in the time I have and then tend to my LO when he gets upset. This is not everyday. this is like twice a week. I start at 9 and usually get done around 7 at night.then it's time to relax and spend time with the family.

On Sundays my hubby entertains LO while I do the bathrooms and the I entertain while he vacuums, does floors and dusts. Other little things I do as I see them needing to be done. I do at least a load of laundry a day.

We have a bungalow, but inlaws rent apartment downstairs so our house is essentially one level.

I start in Kitchen every morning - give dd toys to play with in high chair or put her on play mat and do the kitchen - load dishwasher, clean counters/cupboards, sweep, etc.

I then grab laundry basket and tidy room to room throughout the day when it is convenient for DD and i and put ANYTHING that is not where it should be into the basket.  At the end of the day I empty laundry basket and get things back where they should be.

This and a few loads of laundry is all I can really manage on a day to day basis... Anything else has to wait until DH is around to help.

It is driving me nuts though.
