Pubic bone injury

This summer I did a very hilly 10K and while training I fractured my pubic bone. There is nothing I can do to fix it but stop running for at the least a year! Which has been hard. I haven't ran much since I found out and not at all in the last month. Last night I was up all night with the worst pain I have ever had with this injury!  I have heard that this injury can also be caused from pregnancy/delivery. I also read that the pubic bone softens to allow for delivery. I am just scared this injury is bad for pregnancy. I have not said anything to my Ob about this injury because it hasn't bothered me to much for some time. Anyone else had problems with their pubic bone during pregnancy/delivery or post delivery? And if so what helped to relieve the pain. Sometimes it feels tight like a pulled muscle if sit to long or sleep on my side with my knees together. I am 7 weeks pregnant.

Uh....I would definitely inform my doctor about this! I am not sure why you thought it would be a good idea not to. They are the ones who can answer all these questions for you, plus this could make you high risk, so they would definitely need to know

Yeah, you should definitely talk to your OB about it- my OB questioned me extensively about any trauma/surgeries/etc in my abdominal/pelvic area. I don't know how it would impact your pregnancy/delivery but they can consult you on it.

Thank you! I have made an appointment with a couple different dr.'s! When I initially went in to have this injury examined I told her we were ttc so we didn't do an x-ray and it didn't seem to bother her. So it was diagnosed only by symptoms. Something else may have gone unnoticed. Thanks again! I try not to overreact but I don't want to under react.

That is awesome that your ob is so thorough! Mine hasn't told me vitamins to take what to avoid anything but ultrasounds. 3 to be exact! But I have switched. Thank you!
