Any things you're packing differently this time around?? I was actually thinking a hairdryer this time(not sure if they even have outlets in the bathrooms).

Yes, I'll be packing less. A few snacks, yoga pants, flip flops, nursing tank, ipad and camera. That's probably about it.

Please forgive my typos! I'm not as dumb as my iphone would like you to believe :)

Probably not too different.

I didn't really pack that much last time.

Clothes, camera, laptop, makeup, travel toiletries (have to have my own), boppy, advil (because I'm not paying 5 a pill or whatever ridiculous amount it was to get it from the nurses!), cell phone, chargers.

I can't really think of anything else I took last time or will need this time.

I will be packing less. I brought a lot of clothes last time and couldn't wear them after my c-section thanks to the iv. I also brought a lot of things I thought I might need during labor which I obviously won't need for a repeat csection. I will probably bring two outfits for me, a few things for LO, toiletries, and a hair dryer.

Honest to goodness with my first which was 8 years ago, I never went online, just read what to expect so I was clueless. I packed pre-pregnant clothing! That is right my size 2 jeans a small tiny little shirt! I left in the same clothes I went in with because I had nothing else to wear. I always pack my PP clothes now which are a few size bigger pants and super flowy big shirts.

I did that, too! This time I will be sure to pack some fat pants and comfy shoes. Also socks, my slippers, and god forbid I forget my own pillow. Laying in that hospital bed after a horrible c-section experience was so uncomfortable (and I'm probably looking at a RCS this time). I always make sure to bring my own pillow (and probably some blankets) anywhere I travel these days anyway.

I will also not forget toothbrush, and my own shampoo. Phone charger, possibly my DS... and that's about it. Oh, and I may invest in a good comfy robe.

Definitely taking my laptop again, and maybe some movies for DH. He got tired and bored last time. And maybe some food for both of us, too.

Also: I will definitely be showering first! We went to the hospital when contractions were 5 minutes apart, and I didn't have any way to really clean up until the next day (after DS was born). I look like hell in all of the post-birth pictures. (Vain, I know.)

Same stuff as before (toiletries including chapstick and hair ties, brush and hair dryer, robe, my own nightgown for the second day, yoga pants, nursing tank and hoodie to wear home, my brest friend, camera, purse and chargers), plus probably my own pillow since the ones at my hospital sucked last time, and the tablet computer I think I'm getting for Christmas.

I will definitely be bringing more food this time around. I did fairly well with my packing last time, but hospital food is so horrid I'd rather just bring crap tonnes of my own.

Absolutely yes to more food. This was the worst part last time.

Last time we attempted a home birth and ended up transferring after 27 hours so I didn't even have a bag packed! Zoe went home in a 3 month outfit that someone threw in my bag. This time I will be a little more prepared but I won't pack that much since I didn't really need much the first time.

I stayed in the gown the entire time until it was time to go home. So I only packed one going home outfit (comfy yoga pants, a maternity tank, zip up maternity hoodie & flip flops since my feet were still grossly swollen).

I packed a hairdryer last time but I regret using it because it was so loud and the rooms at my hospital aren't entirely closed off - they have open area above the door and I don't want to disturb any moms next door or close by who might have their newborns in their rooms with them.

Basic toiletries - shampoo & cond, contact solution / case / glasses, hair ties, razor & shave gel....

Phone charger & camera.

SNACKS.

An outfit for baby to go home. That's it.

I never pack much, and the first time MH was so bored the he went home a couple of times and brought whatever we needed back.  With DS2 my parents were staying at our house with DS1 so they brought me stuff if I needed it.

I will bring my own shampoo etc this time around, since I don't think I did last time.  No way I would bring my own pillow or anything since everything smells like hospital and gets gross at some point.  Also, with DS1 I had a csection and couldn't eat solids for over 24 hours.  With DS2 I basically just ordered everytihng on the menu for each meal and it was awesome.  I don't think it ever crossed my mind to pack my own food.

I'll be packing less.  I brought too many clothes last time and I was in my hospital gown most of the time.  I'll be bringing a robe so I can put that on over my gown to walk around.  Less clothes for the baby also.  I brought a lot since I didn't know what he should wear in his hospital pictures.  This time I'll decide ahead of time.

I'm definitely bringing food. I had GD last time and I was used to eating 3 meals and 3 snacks so the 3 meals and no snacks didn't cut it. I was starving!

ETA:  I'll also bring my camera and iPad, small travel toiletries rather than my big bottles from home and make-up.   Although I'm not sure I even put any make-up on last time. And we plan on having less visitors to the hospital this time.

I'll probably bring less this time. I felt like I brought a lot of crap with me last time, and didn't end up needing a lot of it. I'll probably bring my hair dryer and flat iron this time, as well as my boppy (things I didn't bring last time).

I didn't end up using most of what I packed the first time around.  The second time around I was talked into packing the same crap.  This time I'm putting my foot down.  I'm bringing the clothes I'm wearing out of the hospital, baby's going-home outfit, my toothbrush and toothpaste, flip-flops, hair brush, ponytail holders, shampoo and soap, baby's cloth diapers, cell phone and charger, and laptop and charger.

For what it's worth, I am not at all a fussy individual.  I won't be bothering with fixing up my hair, just washing it and tossing it into a 'tail.  I don't mind hospital gowns at all (I think they're comfortable, honestly), and if I'm going to bleed on anything let it be the standard-issue gowns.  And I freaking love those mesh panties they give out - you can bleed all over those suckers and throw 'em out, and the nurses will bring you a handful of packs of new ones.

Sooo wish my hospital had mesh panties!  I threw out a handful of my own tat were ruined. I'm glad I ruined a few hospital gowns though.

I brought a small picture of my oldest that I taped to my bed and my own pillow the second time.  I also brought the boppy which was awesome the second time because baby was in the room with me the whole time and it helped so much with BFing.  I always let my hair air dry or threw it up in a bun (my hair takes too long to blow dry and I would rather sleep!)

I'm hoping to get to pack a bag this time!  Last time I'm just thankful that I had started collecting some things early, like nursing pads and nursing tanks.

I'll probably bring clothes for me, diaper bag with clothes for baby, toiletries, flip flops, tablet, phone, camera, and chargers.  I'll probably throw the MBF nursing pillow in the car and send DH out to get it if I need it.

Still undecided about a vbac or a rcs.

Yes, I packed weird stuff the first time around.  This time my list is...laptop, camera, phone, yoga pants, nursing camis, zip up hoody, socks and toiletries for me.  For the babe-a newborn outfit, a 0-3 month outfit and a cute blanket for pictures.

As for food, the hospitals around me have a snack room fully loaded with fruit, chips, water, juice, milk, soda, muffins, granola bars, etc. that the family has access to 24 hours and an awesome room service like food menu.  I loved the food I had during my stay with DD!

Most definitely, yes.  I'll be packing less.  I will be there for a RCS so 5 days.  I'll be packing my ipad, camera, slippers, toiletries and going home outfits for each of us.  Not a whole lot else!  I barely used a thing that I packed last time so I'm going to go minimalist this time around.

I didn't really overpack the first time, but I think this time I will bring some of my own snacks and my own pillow.  The nurses were on my case for not eating enough, but their food was horrible.  I'd have one of my family members bring me something everytime they came and went.  The bed and the pillows were uncomfortable, but I can't really change the bed, but I can bring my own pillow!

I didn't read all of the responses, so I don't know if anyone said this yet, but I will DEFINITELY be packing my own heating pad. I had such bad cramping from the post-birth contracting that advil wasn't touching. I asked for a heating pad, and you'd have thought I asked for access to high-controlled substances! They had to get approval from my doctor, then approval from the head nurse, then they had to "order" one, then when it finally got there about 2 hours later, it ended up being a water heating pad that was attached to a huge machine that looked like a vacuum and it had to warm up (30 minutes minimum).

Other than that, I will be packing about what I did last time: toiletries, laptop, cozy clothes, makeup for visitors, advil, a bigger robe (I had a short one last time and I felt so drafty!).

Yes. I will be brining a robe and more socks, my own pillow, and his baby book so I can actually work on it while people are visiting him. I got so nervous watching people handle him I just wanted a distraction.

I am only packing a going home outfit for me. Everything else I will use that they provide. It gets trashed anyway.
